Other Games / Re: XCOM: Chimera Squad - XCOM SWAT, releasing April 23

Pretty excited about this, will be interesting if the new breach phase will eliminate the need for the usual pod mechanics, which could be very cool on the Xcom 2 engine (sure looks like a lot of animations and assets were borrowed).

Also, with modding supported I can't wait for all Chryssalid swat team.

Might not be quite what you're looking for but I figure I'd suggest Mush.Twinoid.com, which is pretty much The Thing in outer space, where a crew of 16 people gotta keep the ship together/research/do expeditions while 2 players are randomly chosen to be the Mush and try to convert people.  More on the casual side (AP restores over time, so you really only have to show up once or twice a day), and if I remember correctly you need to buy/earn tickets to have a private ship (To ensure you all show up on the same ship), but I remember having quite a lot of fun with it.

Good on that too, as long as it's not the 50th or 60th vote on anything really terrible that's a small price to pay.  Plus, I've been primed by Az Election Ads, so she's a former green party member who protested the Iraq war in a Pink Tutu and supports Americans who join The Taliban.  That sounds pretty rad to me.

Kyrsten Sinema just hopped in front of Martha McSally in the latest tally in the AZ Senate race, up 2000 votes now.  According to my best guess (based on what AZ Republic was reporting yesterday) there's probably around 450,000 votes left to count.

Not trying to get my hopes up, but this would be pretty good.  Ditto that the Secretary of State and Public Superintendent look feasible to flip blue as the recount continues really tempers what looked like a a terrible election outside of the House of Reps and dunking on private school vouchers.

Yeah, New Bern and that whole estuary looks like it's getting the worst case scenario with the storm slowing and being angled just right that the wind will be be pushing the water upriver even after Flo moves west.

Tip on Mall Cop starts: The store to the left of the starting arcade has a nice little closet with a locker in the back, and it's somewhat protected from the conference room and entrance hordes, so you have time to craft in that closet.  If you do a ninja-ish start like me (I love my quick/light step/weak smell/night vision mall cops), then you can use the back hallways that connect stores to safely loot the mall without clearing the Z's out.  Camp out in the storage room of the store on the SE corner of the mall with all the furniture and it's a very cushy start, granted you'll have to live on vending machine food until you actually venture out.

Yeah, the NPC camps we're the first time I had played in like 6 months.  It's a pretty cool feature, so it's be a shame if it ends up likke the NPC shelter questline, which I don't think has seen much love in some time.

Also, are Hordes working?  I noticed it has been turned off on default for new worlds.  I seem to get random zombos, but my base is also an NPC camp a couple tiles away from a mall that I never really fully cleared.  I did do a fair bit of tree felling in the area though and I would've expected a bit more attention being ~10 tiles from the outskirts of one town and ~15 from another one.

Welp, a 2 rune Vampire Summoner to end the tournament, probably could've added a third rune if I had better spell selection, so thanks Sif.  Really wish I had gotten Mana Vipers (Or any good hexes for that matter).  Lightning Spire dances+Acrobat Amulet was a kinda fun and ultimately effective combo, though I really wish I could play a Wu Jian character with one of those.

But yeah, a decent tournament, got the first DDBe win and it looks like I might grab the VpSu high score, so I'm not disappointed.

Large rocks are pretty good, but yeah, I grabbed two runes on a ogre and it was painful.  Also learned that the colored drain text goes past red in that game.  I got it to gray, and had to run two levels of shoals before I got the drain text back to yellow.

But, positive side, it gave a solution to a sometimes really difficult branch:  Wand of Flame.  On everything.  Steam is a super underrated killing tool.

I'd take a quick ctrl+f of throwables just in case, and then second option would be a one handed crossbow (hand crossbow?  I forget the name).  You don't really want to rely on anything ranged that's two handed, especially with your investment in shields and maces.

You could probably rely on major destruction to pull off a three rune win but I wouldn't push my luck if you don't have a reliable ranged solution by then.

I think you might want to train throwing or some other ranged attack than magic, with your INT at 8 I'd suggest keeping your magic selections to spells lvl 4 and under (Maybe Mana Vipers if you really want to go hard on Hexes), at least through the three rune run.  It just takes a lot of XP to really power up attacks when your INT is so low.  Personally I'd turn training everything else off and just train throwing alone until you hit lvl 15.

As for extended, suppose it depends on your ranged options and whether you're familiar with Pan or the Hells, as there's some pretty nasty situations you can get in if you're not expecting them.

Edit: wrote it not noticing you armor was lowering your INT, but still, even at 12 unless you get some decent +INT I'd still probably keep my magic selection light, especially considering the amount of EXP plowed into armor and fighting (Fighting boosts ranged wep damage, so even more reason to pick up some javelins.)

Felt like I might be able to streak with this guy, but it was one of those weird games where the armor is mostly trash and couldn't really find any great artefacts to cover my resists at the end.  Felt really strong up until Vault 5.  Granted the slight detour into magic didn't help, but with a manual of fire magic, inner flame and an early fire dragon skin, I figured it was a sign.  Terrible luck to be chased by a bone dragon into a hellion with blurry vision in the first couple hundred turns in the abyss, but such is life.

Had a rough loss with 4 runes and the orb on D:7.  7 Orbs of fire in one lung (likely I chose poorly), and got mutated hard with no mut pots, including losing all my MP.  Had 9 Heal pots for the run up, but no haste or dig wands.  If it wasn't for the fact that pan lord hasted itself I might've made it though.

First blush of really playing 0.22, sad about them changing spell books and Trog.  Burning spellbooks was my go to for bee hordes and hydras early game.

Well, I'll move up if they don't get on the team, but I don't want to bump anyone, it's always good to have new blood on the champions team.  If there's any interest for second expert team I could lead it, but if there isn't I don't really want to have a team all to myself.
