Name: Ragnar Lothbrok/ Armor Pattern Gamma "Queen Bee"
Age: 17
Gender:Male
Appearance: A young man with a very fit build, his body covered in muscle. He’s clean shaven and his hair is well kempt, being styled professionally. He has a fondness for suits as they conceal his personal armor nearly perfectly. In his personal armor his appearance is more insectoid, like what the bad guys from those old sentai shows would look like. This is in part because it's made of millions of small insectoid constructs, controlled by a combination of the "Queen Bee" core and the latent psychic potential of Ragnar. The main colors are shiny red and black.
Personality: One may think that being raised as a science experiment for many years of your life, where you undergo strange surgeries and creepy magical rituals (don't ask about the "paint"), would cause you to be a bit on the unstable side. Well, that's mostly the case when you're being experimented on by the "screw basic human decency we have money" crowd. Ragnar, partly because he's the son of the owner and partly because the Lodbrok company didn't get where they are by selling things that turn people into psychos, is mostly normal. His father is a little cold but his mother loves him unconditionally, which is part of the reason he's been so eager to go out and save people. The other part is that because he's never really been around other people his age he kind of accepts anime and stuff as something of a mirror of reality and he thinks that because he has powers he's supposed to be a hero. As such, when he's suited up Ragnar tries to act very... well, the closest comparison would be that he acts very "Captain America" like. Of course, in comparison when unsuited Ragnar has absolutely no idea how to interact with normal people so he tries to be very polite, mostly because he wants to finally have friends. Some people might think he's trying to hard though.
Background: Some people think that every human has latent psychic potential, the ability to make things happen with their mind. They're wrong, it's an exceedingly rare trait that few people exhibit even if they were to be bred for it. The Lodbrok company spent years studying this genetic condition in secret and only recently made a significant breakthrough. Specifically, they brought out the ability to control "insects" (They're really just magical constructs in the form of insects. It's surprisingly efficient to use according to the testing he's gone through.) in the son of the company's owner with the help of the Queen Bee core, a piece of technology they received from a rival company called IRIS Inc. They haven't fully figured out the core beyond they fact that when given to a person with latent psionic potential it can amplify their powers greatly. Since the Lodbrok Company doesn't want to waste the investments they put into researching both parts of this they decided that they should use Ragnar to gather data on the limits of psionic powers and hopefully figure out how the Queen Bee core works through field testing. In reality this just means that he goes out to fight Zoanthropes and they make him wear a camera or fill out forms after sometimes.
It was during a "test run" as they call it in the company that Ragnar met Juliet. They had both apparently targeted the same Zoanthrope, a rather large one which of course meant it was more powerful. Together they beat it and Ragnar invited her to a later meeting over coffee. It was there that the two would team up on the condition that Juliet come in to get a proper costume. (Ragnar would never work with someone who didn't have an immediately recognizable theme.) Truth be told, Ragnar has been more excited to work ever since because of it.
Advantage: Using the latest in Psionic technology the Lodbrok company has made major advancements in personal infantry equipment. Ragnar shows this off with the Queen Bee Core. (That's not actually the name, Ragnar just can't remember the actual one and people just think he's doing a hero thing.) It is, in essence a conductor for psionic energy from the one that it's implanted into and in Ragnar's case enables him to control an army of small insectoid constructs to armor him from attacks and to arm him with a spear and shield. (He calls them his Wasp Spear and Beetle shield.) Due to the insects having access to heightened intellect through psionics, they automatically adapt to better protect Ragnar.
Stats: Describe your character's abilities. These are the sum total of their abilities after all factors; for example, if you're not very strong, but you've got a miniature mech that you ride around and crush things in with overpowering strength, you've got a high melee stat. 14 points to be assigned at the start.
Melee: 5 Ragnar is a master of skillfully using a spear and shield, having been learning since he was a kid. There are few people today that can match him even when he isn't assisted by his hive. (He does know it's a boring choice, he just likes it.)
Ranged: 3 Ragnar has recently been experimenting with ranged use of his drones, specifically splitting his consciousness between him and an autonomous drone for use in controlling other hives.
Mobility: 4 Ragnar tends to have to walk menacingly at people since he needs to concentrate and conserve energy to maintain his armor. This often leaves people unprepared for when he takes flight, leaping long distances quickly to get into the fray.
Defense: 7 Ragnar isn’t actually any tougher than the average human. However, his hive is almost unrivaled in its ability to analyse incoming attacks and shape itself to minimize damage to the user. It’s especially good at guarding against missiles which is fortunate as modern warfare makes more use of them. After some thought and inspiration from some very spicy noodles, Ragnar has had a breakthrough in using his constructs for regenerating, subconsciously healing himself as time passes at relatively high speeds.
Supers: 2
Skills: Active or passive effects that your character uses, beyond normal combat abilities. You get four to start, and more after certain points.
RIP IT OUT 5: Ragnar commands the insects infesting an enemy to return, tearing their way out of the host. Requires the enemy to have a lingering effect from Ragnar's Hive.
Stick it to 'em 5: Ragnar shoves a spear into his enemy's vulnerable bits where it can't be pulled out that easily. The Spear slowly degrades, the insects infesting the enemy and attacking their eyes and genitals painfully and distractingly.
Regeneration protocols 6: The hive activates to replace damaged and missing parts of Ragnar, reducing his defenses in return for rebuilding health. (As a side note, don't look to closely while it happens if you want to sleep soundly that night.)
Flight of the Bumblebee 4: Ragnar blinds an enemy with a swarm of insects to their eyes, opening them up for attacks on their vitals.
Passive: Improved Adaption: Ragnar's defense's adapt to damage faster now.
Supers: Describe your supers here, if any. These are very powerful versions of Skills, often capable of changing the tide of battle.
Hive Establishment Protocol: Decentralization: Ragnar splits off a clone of himself, made up of many constructs and controlled by a "Hive Queen" type drone. This clone has access to the same skills as Ragnar.
Hive Protocol: Protect the Nest: Ragnar calls his clones back, removing them, but increasing his defense dramatically as they form additional layers of armor.

Spoiler: An interview with Ragnar. (click to show/hide)
[The Video opens to a generic scientist looking man sitting at a table with a variety of snacks in front of him. The upper half of the man's head is covered in shadow, obscuring the color of his messy hair. What's apparently the single light source in the room is pointed so that his glasses glint and also obscure the color of his eyes. The lower half of his face has a short beard, revealing that his hair is blonde. He wears a blue sweater under his open lab coat and an ID card reveals that his name is "Dr. Carlsson". He sits patiently, helping himself to some of the snacks. He notably avoids the sweets. Soon Ragnar walks in and sits down on the other side of the table.]
Dr. Carlsson: Good Evening Ragnar. I trust that you've had a pleasant day?
Ragnar: Yes Doctor. My day has been pleasant.
[Ragnar stares at the sweets on the table but doesn't move to grab them.]
DC: Very good. Your performance in the field was more than satisfactory of course. You are most certainly a credit to our research...
[Doctor Carlsson seems to notice that Ragnar is paying more attention to the sweets on the table than what he's saying. He gestures to the sweets.]
DC: Ragnar, you know you're allowed to have anything on the table.
[Ragnar quickly grabs one of the bowls and starts snacking on the candy ravenously.]
DC: Now then, let's start with the basic questions. Have you sustained any injuries that are causing you ongoing problems and/or are you experiencing any emotional distress that will hinder your work?
[Ragnar looks up and shakes his head.]
R: No sir, my armor has been as effective as usual... And my feelings of course don't get in the way of testing.
[Carlsson nods and leans back in his chair with a very slight frown.]
DC: Alright then. And in general, how do you feel?
[Ragnar is silent for a rather long time.]
R: I'm fine.
[The Doctor's response is quiet enough that Ragnar apparently can't hear it.]
DC: You say that every time... have to remember to note that subject continues to bottle up feelings. (Dr. Carlsson coughs and returns to a normal volume.) So how does testing make you feel?
R: I enjoy helping people, so I really enjoy it. Plus it lets me go outside for once so that's good as well.
DC: That's very good. Have you made any friends while you're out?
[Ragnar is silent for a while before shaking his head.]
DC: Well... give it time. I'm sure you'll meet someone. You could even bring them around sometime! I'm sure your father would be very pleased.
[At the mention of his father Ragnar perks immediately, beaming.]
R: I'll be sure to do that Doctor! ... May I please leave, There's a special I want to watch right now.
DC: ... Well, I'm sure we can finish up later. Run along now.
[Ragnar hurries off through the door. The video ends.]
Just before the screen cuts to black a symbol of an eye appears. Underneath it says "Harnessing the supernatural for a safer future".
