It does just use directed anergy.EDIT: Come to think of it, a Stake Driver modified to use a Kinetic Amplifier instead of a spike would work quite well as a shotgun. The air coming off of it could probably just pulp a person. It'll be just like No Country for Old Men! Except you know, more of a gorefest.I have... An idea. If you've played Advanced Warfare, you're familiar with the TAC-9. It's essentially an energy-shotgun.
All you need is to drive a bullet into a kinetic amp and channel the energy!
As an alternative, there was the thundergun from Blops.
