Since Kyle is right up next to Tod he has little problem blocking the punches. With those out of the way he strikes with a few jabs to Tod's stomach before stepping back and fienting with a left jab and strcking Tod with a hay maker from the right.

Actually vampire descendants are not affected by holy things in most lore. In fact, they make pretty great vampire hunters. At least, first generation ones.
