I honestly kind of wished I had the time to make the battle better and I wish I didn't have to run the battle since I find my ability to do so is subpar.

Well, to put it simply, there's not enough spiral energy for that to happen apparently.

Wasn't it more willpower and friendship/bonds with the rest of humanity? The guy who DID try powering it with hate (Simon) ended up nearly self-destructing. And he was the protagonist.

If combat is pretty much a death sentence then death isn't a big impact.

And RPG, please don't. That's not satisfying in the slightest and will just piss everyone off.

Nothing because he's hardly had anytime to interact with anyone. It doesn't matter if they're important to you, changing the game that drastically and killing off characters so casually in the process is going to anger people. If you want to do that, run your own game.
