In order, no, there is no cap the amount of mana just goes up, and objects after the first launch get a x1.5 modifier on their mana cost.
Akia could do quiiite a lot with that~ More then enough to stop someone's heart or make their lungs melt if in physical contact~See enormous.

It all depends on how big it is. I will however set every health point to be worth two mana until it proves to cheap or to expensive.

Assume that out of combat like this it doesn't cost any and you automatically succeed unless what your trying is an actual feat to accomplish.
