Kyle sighs before going to fly over the entrenched enemies and letting fall a single grenade.
Nevlyn was way to slow and thus there is no logical reason for the assassin's to hit him unless his attack went through in which case there is a bigger problem for them.

I don't know what that would be to be honest. I would rather leave it up to the GM and hope that what I think would be an easy thing to do won't be super expensive.
