I really don't want to do the Antarctica plot as it seems like the type of thing that will put the game in a slump as there is no good way to do it.

AI who logically wouldn't have any way to be hacked get hacked as well.
And there ends the comparisons.

Only AI that can 'feel' (of which REI shouldn't have counted because his feeling isn't programmed to influence his actually behavior) get hacked.

Unless they have humans working for them, a comprehensive knowledge of how to hack, or a very long time learning from trial and error there should be no way for them to be abnormal.

Shouldn't AI be nearly impossible to hack by an alien race for obvious reasons?
