Not really, time dilation means that time in the spaceship passes slower from Alice's perspective, hence how more time could have passed for her than Bob. The magical velocity matching is the acceleration that breaks symmetry in this case.

Time is but a mere constant. The passing, inconsistent illusion we see in the wake of light's consistent speed.
