"Well, we get down to fighting and she tries impaling me twice, and I'm thinking to myself 'well, normally they don't try that until I try flirting'. Anyways, she brings up this shield made of petals and I think, 'hey, I can stab through one of those cracks'. Well, when I do so my sword turns red and something in the shield goes boom. Next thing I know, the plant girl is running off into the woods and my flower is wilted. So I sigh and come back here and along the way find this one."

You don't know he broke her. Only that he fought her. And her wounds wouldn't tell you anything since you don't know about Bombardment yet.

"Well, I was out in the forest looking for a pretty flower after relaxing by this pond I was in. I called out asking if anyone was there as it was really suspicious and all. When I didn't get an answer I started digging up the flower when, all of a sudden this... plant woman comes out of no where and makes a vague threat at me before sealing up the grove with vines."
