Dave feels as though one of the only friends of his that he likes just disappeared. But he has little time to dwell as he trips over an auburn haired girl while he walks around the school.

A perk that gives him a chance to block attacks for other people when they're below a certain HP amount.

Also, ugh, grimdark.
The fuck did you expect when you joined a game called Trespassers of the Multiverse, for the titular Trespassers to never show up? :P
We already fought one and that didn't get a grimdark 'oh it's hopeless to fight it' description. And it also seems to not follow the rules of trespassers we were given, I.E. They take the form of deadly things from the world they're invading.

Yeah, especially since people seem to know about supernatural stuff. Which also brings up the question of how the inquisition keeps itself running in the face of actual armies and government agencies that would very much be more that a little pissed off about them.

So... why do people worship Prankator? Like, it seems like no one has any real reason to and what the fuck will he do if people stop worshiping him?

Ian goes with the group fighting the Vertex.

"Phew, look at that! Twinwolf just got a huge cut taken out of her shoulder! If Fish had been a little more thorough, I'm sure he could have run 'em right through."
"Hah, right you are PA. But it looks like Twin is countering with the dreaded Shouryuken! Those jedi knockoffs never see that coming for some reason!"

((Just let any player online do it, I mean, they're usually multiple people per anime group.))

Which leads back to the above point wherein everyone will likely have a different mental image of the fight, meaning some actions look like they should work to one person, but won't work from the perspective of another.
To be fair, that's mostly my fault of being a bit shit at freeform combat back then.

Why not rely more on tools instead of a character's personal skill? Like, a everyone is about the same amount of skilled and there's very little time to actually progress notably, so they have to either start getting creative with tools they have or they get better ones. Like say, there's a mission where you have to take out some platoons with your small squad, obviously it's a bad idea to go in guns blazing so you have the characters come up with traps of varying effectiveness, like, someone brought some rope, so there's a number of traps you can make with rope such as a net thingy trap. Someone only brought a gun, so they set up a sniper nest in the trees.

Yeah, but ghosts can touch your soul and shit and you can't even punch them. Skeletons that have been dead for a couple thousand years you can break into tiny pieces.

Also, skeleton is less gross than smashed head ghost.

He saw someone nearly die via ruptured everything. I think a skeleton is a little less intimidating.

Oceanus shakes out the kinks in his neck. He survived something that would instantly kill him with less notice, a lumbering skeleton in armor, while somewhat worrying, isn't nearly as scary. He charges the skeleton, bringing down the iron stick in a diagonal motion towards the leg of the skeleton. He had to take it out quick, given that the other probably doesn't have to worry about pacing itself.

Oceanus turns back and sighs. He walks over to Elise and grabs the iron.
"Go back to the entrance, I got this."
