Ian goes to an unoccupied couch and collapses on it face down.

Ian nods.
"Yeah... it gets worse too because one of my teammates, my girlfriend Gale, died about a year ago. Crazed huntress type locked her in a burning building and made me watch... that was... that was bad..."
Ian's voice gets kind of high pitched towards the end, like he's gonna cry. After taking a breath he's back to normal.
"A-anyways, I'm over it now."

And so Ian continues.
"I used to want to be part of the group you know, it seemed like a much better life than as a downtrodden orphan who's parents were killed by humans and their 'pet' faunus with an affinity to stuffing people in bags with snakes. I don't blame the snakes obviously, they were just doing what they do..."

Ian looks at her like she said something silly.
"So terrorists can't bomb places, duh. They're really common where I'm from, considering there's at least one cell of them in every major city. It's actually kind of interesting, you seem, me and the other people from my universe actually had out timelines split off when we raided the new base of a terrorist cell. I don't know about Chryssa's, but in my timeline two of our people nearly died because my old gang showed up and fought us since they were going to raid the place first. Wouldn't have been bad if my replacement didn't have a semblance that split us up..."
Ian is entirely to casual about this too any normal person.

"It's also useful for finding bombs surprisingly. They smell spicy."
There's a brief mental image of Ian dressed like a police dog with the requisite ears and tail that comes to mind. How someone reacts to that image is unknown however.
