Ian takes another sip of coffee before sighing.
"Well, it's either blood loss, or the fact that I realized that I'm suddenly no longer in position to work towards my goal in life and on top of that I don't even know how to get back to where I was. Doughnut?"
Ian gestures to the many donuts with him.

He sits down happily at a nearby table and starts on his coffee. About halfway through Ian realizes that his life is slowly spiraling downwards still and now he can't even take solace in that he'll eventually be helping defend his world. He eats a doughnut in shame.
