Curses / You are sentenced to..
« on: September 29, 2008, 06:43:03 am »
Yeah.  Post your most insane criminal sentences here.  I got a six man squad, one gang member and 5 converted CCS scumbags, all with army body armour, M4 carbines and Elite Liberal status.  It's pretty epic, I decided to turn the leader in to see what his sentence was, just for shits and giggles.

The judge reads the charges: The defendant, Kweisi Patterson (Zeus), is charged with 4 counts of terrorism, 25 counts of kidnapping, escaping prison, 5 counts of aiding a prison escape, racketeering, 454(!) counts of felony assault, 472 (!!) counts of murder, 2 counts of arson, 3 counts of misdemeanor assault, 14 counts of carrying an illegal weapon, 668(!) counts of firing an illegal weapon, 8 counts of credit card fraud, 6 counts of theft, 87 counts of breaking and entering, resisting arrest and disturbing the peace.  2 former LCS members will testify against Zeus.

Woah.

Now, I'd love to say that Zeus got off due to his immense stats, but he didn't.  I used the 5000 dollar lawyer, and got..

24226 consecutive life terms in prison.  That's quite a lot.  Anyways, post yours.  ;D

DF Modding / Tower caps?
« on: January 17, 2008, 12:35:00 pm »
Hi.  I was just wondering if it was possible to mod it so it's possible to embark with tower-cap seeds, have your farms be able to plant them, and the plants be capable of making more seeds? I really want to make a totally sub-terra fortress, but wood is the only real problem.

DF Modding / Throats?
« on: February 09, 2008, 12:46:00 pm »
Ok, I've tried sodding around with the raws a bit, but, I've noticed anything marked with the embedded tag can be gouged out. Other than throats, it seems. Does anyone have an idea why throats can't be gouged, and how they can be made.. Gouge-able?

DF Modding / Question about weapons
« on: February 06, 2008, 06:01:00 am »
I was wondering how you change weapon matglosses. I've made a chainsaw weapon, but I don't know how to make it say "Saw" instead of "Lash" when you attack someone. (I just copied the whip and replaced some values.)

DF Modding / Changing damage effects?
« on: December 02, 2007, 04:22:00 pm »
I was wondering if it was possible to change the effects of damage to certain internal organs, or change the scale of damage.  I gouged out a person's guts once and all that happened was the classic "Heavy Bleeding" and unconsciousness. I WANT SEAS OF VOMIT DAMMIT!! >.>

DF Modding / Error with lavasquare.
« on: February 01, 2008, 10:33:00 am »
I'm using lavasquare, converted for 33 g (I downloaded it off the utilities page), but when I try to run it, it says "Cursor must be active" before shutting down.  Any help you guys can give?

DF Modding / Skeleton?
« on: December 16, 2007, 12:27:00 pm »
Little question; has anyone figured out what the [SKELETON] tag does yet? You can find it in body_default in the line about necks, and probably others.  I'm running 33E, I think, so this might be gone in F but I doubt it.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Special attacks?
« on: November 12, 2007, 12:35:00 pm »
Hai peoplez.

First, I'd like to thank Toady and Three for making such a great game.  WE LOVE YOU GUYZ!!!!111.

Ok, on with the show.  I was wondering if there's any way to use special attacks in Adventure Mode.  By special attacks I mean webbing, or firebreath.  Anything along those lines.  Also, is it possible to make a creature that can eat dismembered bits of your enemies, or at least the blood they leave on you?

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Dodok Nishabras: Cyclopean Slayer
« on: February 26, 2008, 05:48:00 am »
This is the story of the first true kill of the Dwarven Hammer Warrior, Dodok Nishabras.  He is originally from the great mountain home of.. Loveattics. Really.
Anyway, Nishabras decided that he would rather help the world, than defend his home. It was stuffed full of traps anyways.

So he set off, to try and find a human town.  After wandering and being ambushed by several wild animals (Including ogres, one of whom was dispatched by a thrown two-handed sword, stolen off a dead goblin. It slashed out his throat.), he finally arrived at the town of Matcheddrill.

You can't make this stuff up.  After a brief conversation with a highly-drunken mayor, whom mentioned something of a "bigsch guy wit un' eye o'er der to tha schouth."  Nishabras was an excellent interpreter of drunkenness, and managed to gather that there was a cyclops to the south, and that he should kill it.  So, Nishabras travelled once more out into the wilderness, looking for the cave, called Dungeonnights.  After finally arriving at his destination, Dodok swiftly found the cave due to a new invention called a "Compass."  After delving in to find his quarry, prepared for the worst.  "Ants. Why does it have to be ants?" he muttered, as he saw the antennae of an antman peer out from the gloom of the cave.

Closing on the inhuman beast, Dodok dispatched it rapidly with a strong blow to the abdomen, exploding it.  Smiling at his own strength, Dodok moved on, down a staircase carved out of the rock its self, encountering yet another antman, killed in the same fashion as the first.

Growing weary of the pitiful enemies he found in the cave, Dodok prepared to leave, before a thunderous cry from his mark shook him to his core.  "I AM EBIR SPLATTEREDWARFS(Well, dwards really, but that sounds better.), PREPARE TO DIE!" Dodok ran aw-Conducted a tactical retreat, as he gathered his bearings.  The Cyclops was advancing rapidly, from a northern corridor, ready for battle.

Dodok steeled himself, and threw himself into battle against the beast, rebounding off the Cyclops' massive frame.  Quickly picking himself up, Dodok bashed the gigantic monster repeatedly, though his mighty hammer simply bounced off the Cyclops' thick hide.  Glancing blows were scored, bruising some minor internal organs, though little worthy of note.

By this time, Dodok was getting concerned.  Few of his blows were doing damage, and the Cyclops could easily outlast him.  His mind would soon have larger problems, as the Cyclops readied a massive fist and struck, breaking Dodok's left lower arm like a twig.  Losing his hammer, Dodok cried out in pain as the Cyclops continued assault, knocking Dodok over with its massive bulk.  Realising this was it, Dodok tried a desperate move.  His throwing sword he had used to kill an ogre earlier had been lost early on in the battle.  Dodok picked up his hammer with his one remaining hand, and raised it in the air, praying to any gods he knew.  Throwing the mighty weapon, it hit dead on, shattering the Cyclops' right hip.  Falling over, the beast gave into pain.  Dodok couldn't believe his luck, and quickly crippled the monster's limbs before throttling it to death.

"One down, Armok knows how many to go.."

Edit: One down, none to go, actually. Dodok died from MASTERWORK FRICKING COPPER ARROW wounds, from an elite bowman. He took three, at least. :/

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / You IDIOT
« on: February 26, 2008, 04:36:00 am »
So, I'm making a fortress.  Turning all the migrant peasants into military dwarves to hopefully fend off a siege.  They're sparring in the barracks/soon-to-be-pond, and guess what one of my latest recruits does?.. Yep. Jumps. Into the fricking  empty pond.  I only knew he was in there after he died from thirst, and now one of my redundant milkers wants to steal his trousers, but is spammimg me with cannot find path jobs.  Dwarves may be masters of engineering, and the best miners this side of Betelgeuse 7, but damn, their heads could all roll off if they weren't securely attached to their shoulders, if they can forget about GRAVITY.

DF Gameplay Questions / Tameable undead?
« on: December 08, 2007, 09:47:00 am »
I'm planning to start a new fortress in an evil (Purple) area, if a living animal has the [PET] tag in the inis, will its undead counterpart also have the tag or are all undead creatures too thirsty for blood?

DF Gameplay Questions / Body slam!
« on: March 03, 2008, 04:24:00 pm »
I can't help but noticing that you seem unable to throw your enemies properly in the newer versions.  Is this intended, or a bug?

DF Gameplay Questions / Well that's odd.
« on: February 27, 2008, 05:29:00 am »
I'm in a tavern currently, and I've jumped off the second storey onto an unconscious shopkeeper, and it doesn't seem to be hurting him at all.  May I ask if this is intended, or a bug?

DF Gameplay Questions / Where are all the zombies?
« on: April 08, 2008, 04:52:00 am »
OK, have I just been incredibly unlucky, or does it seem that there are now very, very, few ruins lying around the world map as there were in previous versions.  I tripped over them previously, but now they're positively rare.  So, has this changed, and if so, could I change it back?

DF Bug Reports / One seed planted? [38C]
« on: April 14, 2008, 05:28:00 am »
OK, I've got my farmer dwarf, and a farm.  Plump helmets all year round, but he isn't planting seeds.  He goes to no job, after planting one seed, and then everyone starves.     :(

I've deconstructed the farm, and the farmer has no hauling labours on so I see not why he wouldn't want to farm.

Edit: I also have a woodworker/farmer and metalworker with the farming labour on.    Still no plants.

Edit: Made plots in a new place.  Seems to be working now, strange.
