i've been wanting to put this on Bay12 for a long time.



Pokemon Uranium is still alive and kicking so following this latest update i've decided to put a new run (no Nuzlocke, i cannot bear such stuff). this will be a more graphical gameplay thread compared to my EVE Online text-only adventure so at least you can see my progress this time.

hope you enjoy reading my misadventures until the end of the gameplay (well at least he current endgame taking in account there's still some post main storyline stuff missing).

rank 475 today, just a few more days to finish. on the other hand i couldnt get enough missions today and both L4 agents are stuck on lowsec stuff so no extra mission running today.

i reached past the 1,5 billion mark but yeah, PLEX is stoo expensive at the moment so i cannot invest on Omega yet. CCP put a new discount offer on Galaxy Packs or something this week so there's the little hope that the prices will go down again (but i doubt it).

as for Drone skills. im currently finishing Drone Avionics then moving to Drone Navigation, then will be lvl 3 for Drone Durability and that should leave me with the week long skills like Drones V, Drone Durability IV, Light Drone Operation V. i havent added Medium or Heavy Drones yet and there's still Drone Interfacing, Drone Sharpshooting and so on but for now things look good, i've barely scratched past the 3 million SP mark so perhaps i'll be able to complete this family of skills before running out into issues.

im gonna keep with the daily grind for now, allthought im slowly getting bored at times. i cannot jump into wormholes yet due to nonexistant DPS, combat missions require me get into larger vessels to progress and i'll also be loosing standings shooting the rats so there's not much that i can do as alternative.

Mining and Exploration seem to be the only options. there's also the thing that im still not sure if Abyssal Deadspace will provide an alternative source of income via combat without fucking up my standings with Triglavs, Drifters or Rogue Drones. i dont want to loose what i achieved leveling social either with those or with the pirate factions, so that leaves me out to try the dungeons.

im still a long way before sitting in a cruiser anyways.

saving days before posting because there's not much to report honestly.

rank 460, im doing like 5 ranks daily, so it will take at least 8 days more to finish (i dont feel like burning up for those last 40 ranks). the sad thing is that since PLEX prices seem to be increasing, i may be find myself resorting to injectors instead, the other way around would be to keep maxing my wallet and wait for prices to go downdue to special offers (probably wont happen until Black Friday hits on the northern countries).

the standing grind has gone quite steep too. im currently just getting to 8,7 with Hedion. i could keep going if not because im currently bent on not grinding too much, otherwise i would get really burned from the game so im trying to keep things going at a slower pace. on the otherh and im getting closer and closer to rank 10 and im already stacking a lot of LP again, 38K and counting. so this should earn me for another big sell of implants later on.

as for skills. i finally finished with Tactical Shield IV and started grinding Drones. support skills are fairly easy to lvl up save for Drone Durability (cause for some reason it has a higher scaling so the 4th point will probably take the same as the other main skills) so im going to lvl those first then leave Drones V, Light Drones V and so on for last. im getting close to the 3 million mark so i may be worried i wont be able to fill up this one without leaving missiles behind and i need both to pull up the DPS of the Magnate fit.

if SP looks to tight i may then just focus on mastering Light Drones with top support skills then focus on Missiles (Rockets, perhaps Light Missiles but im more of a scram kiter), and if there's still some extra leftover that could reach the gap in gunnery (for PvE because drones + missiles is too mainstream and lasers give me infinite ammunition just for less DPS) then i'll also invest into Lasers. this way i can more or less master the 3 weapon systems at a Frig/Destroyer lvl which sounds fine as i dont really see myself flying Cruisers for now (thought i've been considering an Arbitrator for Abyssal Deadspace, the problem is that i still have the worry about loosing standings with the Triglavs, Rogue Drones and Drifters).

rank 445 and counting. didnt feel like finishing the pull to 450 today because of the new event. this time CCP was more forgiving with the booster rewards so i rushed to fit a cheap venture and started mining my way up to 50 points.

i also bought and injected some neural enhancemente skills, Biology included as i need to maximize the time of the drug. this should save me some days of training or so despite having to learn some extra stuff.

i decided to open the lootboxes from Project Discovery as im only short of 100 to finish. in total i activated 221 skins from the whole Exoplanets Hunter collection, and there's still leftovers to sell. the problem is that they are cheap as fuck in the market so i guess im gonna wait and see what else comes up with the last 100 boxes. then save them for later, perhaps giving them away to future corp members or so.

im also getting to the 1,5 billion mark. close to 1,42 and counting, i wasnt really expecting to get to that amount before rank 500 but its coming up (the LP rewards helped a lot i guess).

some snippets from EVE Vegas:

1. Winter Update:

-FLEX Upwell Structures which are the replacemente of the jumping related POS modules, they are the Ansiblex Jump Gate, Pharolux Cyno Beacon and Tenebrux Cyno Jammer. these structures use the same acces lists as the rest, from what i gather these new gates consume liquid ozone for every ship jumping. there's no fatigue penalty for using these things and they can become public or connect to gates from other alliances.

-Abyssal Deadspace Coop which is meant for groups of 3 frigates via activating 3 filaments (of the same type i presume)

-Abyssal Duel sites which have a chance to appear while doing regular Abyssal dives, its meant for a 1v1 cruiser encounter with another player and some loot to reclaim if being the winner (countdown still applies aparently)

-new Triglavian ships, the Kikimora destroyer, Drekavac battlecruiser, Rodiva support cruiser and its T2 logi version the Zarmazd. the first one is a long range platform, the BC is well a more robust ship than the Vedmak due to armor resistance bonus and the Rodiva/Zarmazd are meant to be logistical cruisers with a ramping rep bonus for remote repairers.

-Abyssal deadspace will receive some resource extractors spawning in the pockets as an extra source for prime materials in order to further supply for Triglavian related manufacturing

-Activity Tracker which will allow players (and CCP) to see their current statistics along with providing some kind of information for new players about what can be done ingame

-Wardces can only be put on corps that own structures, this is a temporary thing as it seems they will have to create a completely different mechanic to replace the current wardec system

-Crimson Harvest returns with a new set of skins, material and other goodies (this is meant to come soon compared to the rest but i included it anyways)

-there will also be a winter event supposedly set near the outer atmosphere of a frozen planet.

-other stuff previously mentioned like FAX nerfs or skins for Upwell structures

2. plans for 2019 or so:

-they want to further redesign the Agency in order to make it the main source of information regarding activities, fleet finder, events, tutorials and stuff like that.

-some kind of "daily missions", cant remember their purpose

-improvements for ECM and its related ships, things like extra strength, range and a reduction in signature radius or fitting requirements seem to be coming up on the first phase. no word on defensive improvements but as i always thought, these ships werent meant to carry almost all their mids choke full on the modules. they were supposed to act the same as the other EWAR platforms with 1 or 2 of them and carry proper tank.

-changes to Navy ships. at least battlecruiser and up. not sure on navy frigs and cruisers as they were already rebalanced years ago, but they seem to be wanting to put unique gimmicks to the ships to make them more than a direct buffed version of their T1 precedents.

-possibly opening Abyssal Duel bonus sites for 3v3 frigate fights

-some looks into capital ships (not trully confirmed but they may be looking at it)

-the replacement for the already mentioned Wardec system

-further additions to events with things like more skin colors, patterns, effects, new rewards and other stuff like that

-mutaplasmids for damage modules, with up to 20% RoF and Damage from unstables.

among some other stuff i cant really remember.

took a rest from playing for the whole week or so. i returned to do some few runs to complete the remaining ranks. currentl 430 in Project Discovery, im so close.

i lost some money from the LP gains due to buying some +3 implants to speed up things. in 2 hours or so i will be 1 point left from completing Targetting and will be missing 5 days of training to complete the last shield skill.

thus i will be able to focus on honing the drone skills in the next week or so. pretty good so far.

as for missions well not much development, close to 8,5 in standing with Hedion and 5,15 with Emperor Family. once i finish with checking transits this will be the only activity left, i just hope i can get enough flow of high sec destinations in order to get rid of this grind quickly.

after watching what is coming up in Winter update. i'll be holding on the idea of founding the new corp. will make it once the Wardec changes arrive in order to evade any unwanted aggression. so for now its just run missions and skill up. perhaps i will start looking at doing other stuff while waiting for skipping low sec destinations, probably mining missions or something like that.

back in the days i enjoyed Lineage II (private servers). it had something going that made it enjoyable and a change of pace from the whole WoW boom.

nowadays i only play EVE and WoW (private server sadly, PC cannot handle the latest versions so im stuck in Cataclysm/Mists of Pandaria, perhaps Warlords of Draenor but there's no good server for it that i know about).

from personal experience i would recommend any of those 3. i played Aion once, didnt like it, there were others like Perfect World or ARGO but most of the time these asian MMOs were really just never grew on me. for some reason Lineage did, either for the lore or the gameplay mechanics (even when player movement and models were quite limited, but it surely wasnt the voluptuous Dark Elven females).

Mortal Online was a cool endeavor too. but i cant play it atm and never really got the grasp on how to be adept on it.

as for the current discusion in the comments. im more of a fan of action bars compared to active combat, it feels good in games like The Elder Scrolls where you're a single player and the NPCs dont do weired maneuvers to fuck you up. but in a multiplayer game, with people shooting and doing crazy combos it really feels complicated to land weapons or spells on targets.

yes pressing buttons feels unrewarding if you're not a fan or hability rotations and shit like that but this is more of an adaptation from the old turn based RPG combat mechanics (with dodges and accuracy being based on calculations rather than being a result of movements).

i wouldnt mind the Skyrim system of putting your spells/powers into a selectable menu when pressing a key so you can swap to different habilities during action combat as complement to regular hack and slash or shield blocking. but this only works in singleplayer format because the system actually pauses the game before that.

in a multilplayer scenario that means players have to quickly move around and relocate. even Mortal still uses action bars instead of a full action system like the described above.

i think that perhaps, in the future. we could handle this with a system similar to Minecraft/Terraria. with a special scrolling bar where you can swap weapons and spells in real time just by using the mousewheel (wouldnt surprise me if one of the current MMO titles already took on that concept tbh).

this frees the system to handle more action based stuff like using the left and right clicks for blocking and hitting. perhaps even dual wielding or dual casting (like in Skyrim).

one thing to take in account tho is that this would mean taking a look on how many habilities are churned into classes/professions (honestly i dont get why we still look at those things as separate instead of a single careers tree). to ensure players have enough habilities to tinker on different strats but not so much as to clutter the limited amount of slots of the single action bar.

for example. lets say that im trying to make a class similar to the Druid from WoW but less button intensive:

1. forms would be habilities in this case instead of special UI inclusions. this means i need at least 4 slots avaliable for the druid to change forms, in this case the forms are divided into "Defender" (armored herbivores, works similar to the bear form), "Ambusher"(predatory creatures that prowl or faceoff to deal damage directly like the cat form), "Photosynthetic" (nature based, plantlike, healer oriented forms like the old tree form) and "Faeric" (like the boomkin but you become something like a fae creature or stuff like that to deal nature damaging spells) forms. one thing to take in account is that this may mean a druid can change forms with just rolling the mousewheel so certain limitations may have to be put for pvp.
2. each form has at least 5 specific active habilities, the druid class on its own may also have 5 active habilities for theiru se in the scrollbar. this means a total of 14 slots in the scrollbar.
3. one upside of the druid in WoW is that changing form puts a different actionbar than the one you use in humanoid form so this could be extrapolated to the scrollbar system, with the habilities being replaced when you shapeshift. another additional could be that forms can be keybinded so you dont have to scroll them in the bar and free more slots for extra spells
4. the scrollbar would then be used for special hability selections while regular blocking, spell casting and attacks would be managed by the left and right clicks.

what do you think?

rank 400 achieved this morning. also finally got the 100K LP but to my disappointment i only made like 80+ million from it. i forgot the Mindlink costs 2 T2 mindlinks to get and they would cut the excedent money so instead i had to buy a high grade scanning implant, a midgrade hacking implant and a +3 implant instead. in fact, there's still close to 5K LP missing to spend, i couldnt buy anything more so i'll have to see how much i make from here to standing 10.

total money atm is 1,3 billion, still not enough for Omega but there's still so much work to do before that.

in terms of skills i put the last lvl of Shield Upgrades. this leaves me with only 2 shield skills missing that total for 10 days of training. im gonna have to get those +3 implants or something in the future to evade this shit but not now.

with short of 100 ranks to finish with Project Discovery i stopped by in Amarr and redeemed a second batch of rewards. i havent opened the crates as im waiting to get them full once rank 500 is achieved and i get the Marshal BPC, then i will open all of them one by one and activate whatever skins i get.

im gonna wrap this for today but if i dont come too tired from college i may run for the daily 10 ranks in the night or something. there's still much grind to do for standings

as for dail posts:

i almost reach rank 400 today if not because of the daily limits of the minigame. i've steeped up to 1,2 billion isk in the process but its still not enough to buy the omega so i have to keep going.

i was also planning on reaching the 100K LP mark today but the agents havent been generous and i've been getting lowsec missions too frequently so i moved to the L3 Emperor Family agent instead. i didnt really look what level i am but i think its close or over 4,5.

i've gotten up to 20K LP with that corp as of today. but like with the other the idea is to save as much LP as possible then buy expensive implants that sell for a good mark. so no use for this atm.

You might be surprised what you can get in null. Anyone can buy on NPC Stations and neutral traders might deliver stuff there because they can get a better price there. And quite a few stations might allow anyone that is not red.

yeah but Catch for example is sov territory, i dont think someone would sell all the components i need for the fit in Stain either.

ok so i only ran 10 ranks today, currently 380. if i keep it that way there's 12 days before getting to 500. i've made 1,160 billion ISK and im getting close to 100K LP to spend into another Imperial Navy Command Mindlink which should provide another 160 million or so. this should leave me further close to the required money to get 500 PLEX.

as far as standings go i've gotten as high as 8,3 with Hedion and a bit over 4,2 for Emperor Family. but as always i had to stop for a while and run between mission hubs while evading lowsec related missions. in fact, i did one but there were 10 more in local when i entered so i didnt take more missions to that route.

nothing interesting in terms of skilltraining. still finishing Shield Compensation while the other short skills have been completed.

however, i've gotten interested in getting a Triglavian suit, but the Svarog version doesnt seems to be avaliable ANYWHERE!, i see people getting the red one or the green or blue which are in the NES. but the Svarog (Black, Gold and Ivory, pretty much Amarrian in colors) doesnt appears in the lists.

well, its not like im not fine with my current clothing, i like my basic starter clothes but i'd like to obtain something more aristocratic or knight-like later on. most of the armor suits i've seen dont feel nice aesthetically speaking. that Svarog is the only one that looks decent IMO.

perhaps i'll have to wait and see what is brought to the apparel later on.

ok the daily quota of boring tasks moved me to standing 8 with Hedion and standing 4 with Emperor Family. i've reached past 1.1 billion ISK and im completing the shield compensation skills, leaving me with only the long ones at rank IV to finish Shield this week or the next.

project discovery didnt allow me to round but i basicaly got to Rank 370. this should speed up things a bit.

i also started theorycrafting a cheap fitted Tayra for running missions in null. the sad part is that the align time is still to slow (8,5 secs with the basic inertials), shipc an in theory tank fine because its a mainline shield ship and gets enough cargo to only require 1 rig and the rest can go for agility but still, im not sure if that thing would survive the long trek between Highsec and Catch, let alone move around the systems in Stain.

so for now its just saved in the fitting menu. perhaps will serve for other regions but i would have to grind standing 1 all over again with whatever faction i choose to work with. Sansha is just the only one atm with that lvl.

im also considering opening up a corporation again, but this time for some kind of open activity instead of a fixed direction like it happened with the first one, something akin to just being a corp in name but there's no office or tax for members, we just fly together and stuff. it doesnt sound too convincing but well i dont really have the time to mess around with the whole infrastructure again, perhaps later on opening a corp hangar but i dont see the point of it if we're not going to produce anything or require an industry base. but first of all im waiting to get the money for the Omega period because im going to help someone with expanding his new corp's member limit.

You can make money with exploration in a frig. Then go back to HS via Wormholes.

the idea was to optimize my skillplan. running distribution missions doesnt take much in terms of SP outside of leveling to get the Distribution Connections prerequisites. perhaps i'll consider exploration later one but first im focusing on filling up the core skills and Drones + a main weapon system in order to be combat worthy.

i want to make sure those 5 million SP are filled with the proper skills rather than deviating with additonal stuff like market or mining. plan is to use the Magnate but not exactly for exploration, more for ambushing other explorers. there's a fit and all.

as for wormholes, i aint touching that unless i fly in a Punisher/Tormentor. mostly for farming purposes.

bought a cheap fit bestower to keep going on with the plans. lost it some minutes ago but i was able to turn in several misions, got my reputation up to standing 7,96 or so. im bored of running missions for today so im gonna leave it like that.

apart of that i was able to reach Rank 350 in Project Discovery and reach past the 1 billion mark, currentl 1,06 and counting. those last 150 ranks should earn me enough to buy the plex. not to mention im getting to 60K LP accumulated over time. so there may be some extra millions out of this one and im still 2 points before maxing standing with Hedion.

i'll probably wait until the next weekend or so in order to not get burned out. but im still gonna check for the skillqueue.
