Are the raws modded to allow dwarves to make daggers? Because they normally can't.

They would of course be granted that ability, but it may be something different from the generic large daggers.

Didn't Talvi's list say something about Vampiric Silver Daggers?

, like highborn dwarves (who I devised as way for us to be allowed to arrange unfortunate accidents without complete upward stagnation, though at the cost of decent soldier. :D)

This seems to say you know a way to put political tags in creature RAWs. Can you explain that? :D
Otherwise I like those positions, assuming everyone is okay with the added difficulty objectives.
I think I want to see this with the CMD and Physicians, though. Just for Flavor.

Oh, if you were surprised by a new name, I read through the whole thread over the last few months. I love this fort(which got me back into DF after a long hiatus) and have been playing against Mr Frog's Holistic Spawn in my current fort. My Fischer has 18 kills, 8 of which are Spawn. She is 154 Spear(no pikes sorry) and 215 Fighter.

Hopefully, I'll be contributing to SB 2(odd for me but I did say hopefully)

Try to use Region world gens as the basis. I'm sure you can change the ocean tile count or something, but this way usually generates large maps where all land is connected.

On the fast travel map, I think there is a sewer entrance label, just like for wells. A lot of those entrances seem to be blocked, but you can just check another. Failing that, there will be an entrance in the dungeon as Garath suggested, because (in my experience) there is always an entrance to the sewers somewhere. Also, you may be able to drop down a well, though I've never tried it and you will probably die for your trouble.

I have modded boots (ITEM_BOOT_THIGH) that cover the upper leg, modded breastplate (ITEM_ARMOR_FULL) that covers the throat, modded gloves (ITEM_GLOVES_HIGH) that cover the upper arms, and a modded chain shirt (ITEM_ARMOR_MAIL_DRESS) that covers the entire body.
So your boots replace pants(but leave lower body vulnerable, don't let anyone shoot you in the ass). The breastplate, assuming you have UBSTEP:1, covers the throat and upper arms, so they have extra protection from the gloves as well. Your chain dress is a lovely metal version of a cloak.

Also, there are very few places where an adventurer can use ranged weapons without entering melee. Better safe with platinum or gold. Silver if you plan on finding them without the reaction.

I have 20 axes, 49 breastplates, 45 greaves, 47 helms, 80 high boots, 78 gauntlets, 18 short swords, 15 spears, 1 pick(lol, miners are badass), 152 strands, 191 wafers, 31 raw, 1 (raw) piccolo, 1 sarcophagus, and 1 statue.

Didn't realize I was so low on...candy. I found a vein in third cavern and dug it down to the sea. Guess I need to dig it the depths. Extractors at level 14, 12, 10, and 6.

I thought setting the cap to 0 made it say "No pop cap!"
That might just be with babies though...

Also, attachments at bottom of post give the option to "Don't use smileys." > :) Only works for NOEMOTION hermits.

These will be utterly worthless. They are either blunt weapons or projectiles, all of which need to be heavy to deal real damage. And you forgot pants.  :P

All my megabeasts are dead, so I'm wandering around killing night creatures. Whole families of night creatures. With twenty followers. And no armor cause I'm an outsider and bigger than a human.
Edit. Killed ten kobolds before they got me. They filled a page in the historical figures.

It's colored like parchment, without Graphics sets. I rather dislike it, but what can you do?  :-\ Dwarves don't have satellite imaging.

Just go to a workshop, queue an order, press Alt+w (assuming you kept the default keybindings in dfhack.init) and say how much of the output good you need. It will prompt you to enable workflow and set the job to repeat. After that, it will enable the job whenever output is too low. I have automatic production of drink, food, clothing, coal, metal bars, bolts, beds, coffins, doors, ash, potash, lye, soap etc. I sill need to automate my cloth production line with workflow but that shouldn't be hard.

I've been using DFHack since... summer? Anyways, that is the first I've seen of that. You sir, just saved my fort from death by boredom.  ;D

As to the actual topic, I spent weeks reading through the wiki before I started my second fortress. Or my first, to be honest, which used the quickstart guide up there ^. The real trouble comes when you need to start looking at the RAWs for help.  :P

That actually feels like cheating to me. If milking gave you experience in threshing and cheese making, my farms would be so much more productive. Like, too much. I have ten thousand pounds of cheese and thread as is.

I... just got the invite to become part of the kingdom... For the first time... I'm very confused. I've tried to make this happen over and over, and when I don't want it to happen, it does... Oh well.

I chose a random (fixed) merchant with high Leader role rating, named her Mary(like that one terrible queen) and am about to use the impregnate command to give her an heir. Didn't even realize the religious significance until I started typing. She and her son worship Gamil, the deity of Healing.
