So let's look at someone who has a gender identity that does not match their physical gender. I see it bandied about that gender-normative people have an unearned advantage in society; I'd return that transgender people have an earned disadvantage. Who you are inside, your real identity, is very different from your public, perceived identity. If you decide to display a public identity that is far from the expected norm in a culture you should expect that there will be some cultural backlash.
So you're saying that if I don't want to suffer verbal abuse, I should do something that makes me feel shitty anyway? Dressing/acting like a guy makes me feel like absolute shit. Every time someone refers to me as male, I want to die. If you still think it's my fault for getting called a tranny and a faggot then fuck you. Seriously.
I'm sorry for seeming overly angry at this, but it's something I've had do deal with ever since I came out, and I'm sick of it. I don't want to look out of the ordinary. I don't want people to look at me and say "yep I can totally tell she's trans." But dressing girly and wearing makeup make me feel better. You can't tell me it's my fault when the alternative is wanting to jump in front of a fucking bus every minute of every day.

It shouldnt f-ing matter how you look, what gender or race you are or whatever. But it also angers me that we live in a society where "Im being offended" are the magic words for entire websites to grind to a crushing halt, to adress this percentage of people who couldnt handle a joke. And any argument you start is instantly shot down by people hiding behind their morale-crusade to make everyone aware of their own personal problems.
I never want "entire websites to grind to a halt", all I want is for people to take a moment to acknowledge that something was offensive and that they fucked up. I've seen people use the word tranny simply because they thought it was the preferred term, and when they were told it wasn't, they politely acknowledged their mistake, and never used the word again. That's all I ask. If you do or say something offensive and get called out on it, you should politely apologize, and never do or say that thing that was offensive. That's not to say that the offended party couldn't do with some lessons in politeness, either.

Ideally, I would suggest legal action. If someone's really that committed to degrading you, press them with charges. Is pretty cut and dry that if someone is hurting more than your feelings, you have laws for that.
Unfortunately, the law doesn't really apply to verbal abuse. Death threats are one thing, but if someone is verbally abusing you without threatening violence against you, the law won't do shit. Someone telling you you should kill yourself doesn't mean shit unless you actually do it, in which case they get charged with something relatively minor or something, and that's only if the suicide attempt is successful. Even then, they pretty much have to say the exact words "go kill yourself", and if you don't have physical evidence, it's pretty hard to prove. So most of the time, legal action isn't an option. It's not like elementary school where you could just tell a teacher that someone was bullying you and have something done about it. (Which was still pretty unreliable at best, by the way)
He misunderstood the topic the op was talking about, and came over to complain. Why should the op have to apologize in that situation? I would just clear the thing up, explain the actual topic was a game, not dwarfism, and then the situation should be resolved. Ideally the other guy should've stood up and apologized for just assuming things without actually knowing what the topic and talk was about.
Ideally, this is how the situation should have played out:
OP: Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't using that word as a pejorative, I was simply referring to a fantasy setting. I'm sorry if that word upset you.
Offended man: Oh, I'm sorry I took your words out of context, I will not bother you any further. Good day to you.

I was playing Dungeon crawl as a ghoul necromancer the other day and raising up every corpse I could find to be my skeletal servants and eating the leftover flesh, and it was sort of satisfying, but I wish I could do more. I want a game where I can raise up entire hordes and armies of undead and lay waste to entire cities. I want to watch and laugh as the masses of writhing, rotting flesh wash over those pathetic mortals as they try desperately to fight back, and are ultimately consumed as fuel for my unstoppable unholy army. Unfortunately I don't know of a game that will let me do that, so I'll just stick to Crawl and Dungeon Keeper...

Tired Gay succumbs to Dix.
I'm 5 years old and this article is hilarious.
Quote
"It wasn't bad, but I was a little fatigued toward the end," Gay said. "I tried to stay relaxed and bring it home, but it wasn't enough."
The innuendo kind of peters out towards the end, though.

So I'd really like them to make 'Other M' be the 'Tokyo Drift' of games and just get skipped over by people who ever talk about the series.
I really hope we get a new Metroid game with a different studio/director behind it. Other M is what happens when you give a great female protagonist to the people who made Dead or Alive: Beach Volleyball.

Dare I link the old CD-i games or the cartoon?
Well EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE me, princess!

People can have a rational debate over religion. It's been done before. Unfortunately this very rarely happens, and it's usually the pro-religion side that starts the yelling.

Can you show me an example of a rape joke that Yahtzee has made? I can't think of any.

THe one with the Mexican Lady in Call of "CHUAREZ - The Cartel" is one I can think of right away, altough i'd have to rewatch a few Vids to mention more.
Where? I don't see anything even closely resembling a rape joke anywhere in that episode.

So the "Wiping off a dead babys face with tissue that has a Holocaust-Denial written on it.", or the one with the two pregnant women in an arena were in perfectly fine taste? His numerous Jabs at america, Homosexuality and sexism are allright? But one joke about Transgender and we start lighting torches and throwing forks?
I'm not saying "it's okay to make fun of certain things", I'm saying that there's a certain context to most of his jokes that was different in the trans joke. Besides, dead baby jokes are made for shock value, they aren't specifically made to insult babies.

The trans joke he made wasn't so much funny as it was offensive and in poor taste. He was basically implying that trans women aren't really women, and when he realized how much it actually offended people, he changed it. It wasn't that he wrote a joke that was intentionally hateful and changed it to save face, it was that he actually didn't know just how offensive it was until people pointed it out and explained it to him.

Though I ended up bisexual, with no real romantic interest in guys. Also not sure if that has anything to do with how I preferred things.
I ended up the same way, really. Although honestly, I refuse to believe that anyone in the world is completely straight/homosexual. In my experience, there's always a loophole.

When only dolls are shoved in your face from a young age, and you're told you can't play with the toys your opposite gender sibling is playing with, you learn to like what you're told to enjoy.
I played with the toys opposite my gender all the time, and look how I tur- Oh, wait.

Doesn't that disprove kaijyuu's point? If you played with the toys, then turned out to be perfectly heterosexual and just happen to enjoy the 'feminine' toys, that would be evidence in favor of the claim that it's artificial.
Well I also played with and enjoyed "masculine" toys as well, so make of it what you will. My sister also played with and enjoyed "masculine" toys and ended up asexual and cisgendered so I'm not sure what that says.

Look, there's PC and then there's ridiculousness. People who make the argument of "I don't have to be PC, you just need to stop being offended", I can safely say, are probably cis white males who have only ever maybe been called random insults because of relatively minor things. The word tranny offends me because I am trans, and said word has been used to belittle and mock me and people like me for decades, just like I'm sure Richard Sherman didn't appreciate hundreds of people on twitter calling him a nigger. Then you have people who get offended at the term Mexican, even though they're from Mexico. While I don't think the word Mexican should be used to describe someone of Hispanic origin when you don't know exactly where they hail from, the word Mexican is not, in and of itself, offensive. I know some people who get offended at the term "black people" and prefer "people of color", and I also know people who are fine with the prior term and refer to themselves as such.
In any case, my point is that in my opinion, it's good to be PC up to a point. You shouldn't be bending over backwards to please every single perceived minority, but a little common courtesy is nice to have.

At some point these writers need to start coming up with original ideas. You know a great inspiration for original story lines? Stuff that is happening now instead of stuff that would be plausible as long as nobody has a cell phone and there are no cameras in banks etc.
I like Supernatural, because it takes modern technology into account. (Modern for 2006 at least) What I don't like about Supernatural is that the writers couldn't just let it end with Season 5,
