PTW. This looks really cool. Nothing fancy, just pure player-driven story with no gimmicks.
I might add some illustration if anyone wants to give it (I'm terrible at arting) but otherwise, yea nothing fancy really going on here.

As for an update: I'm currently working on the first major turning point in the game. The puzzles are simple, so far, but I've always made sure that there are several ways to solve them that may or may not be obvious or reversible.

It turns out, that if you spec them right, mages are nigh-invulnerable and better tanks than the actual tanks, and do more damage than the DPS.

So... Mages in Dragon Age are the same as ever? Seriously, I just outright stopped playing Awakening because combat was too easy. It was boring. Turn on all of my buffs, whack some stuff, stuff falls down, I take little to no damage. Arcane Warrior is OP as shit. Combat Magic just makes it worse. And by worse I mean I could probably face down an elder dragon and walk away unscathed.

I WILL SHIV SO HARD
I'm liking where this is going.

Seems like it's a running theme for people to say that I'm smart.

Welcome to the club. I don't know what everyone sees in me. I still come up with weird terrible fanfiction all the time.

Times like this cryptolocker crap make me somewhat glad all of my files are on a computer that is completely isolated from any other computer. Not by choice, of course, but still.

I figured out that I'm in love O_O
Eh, the feeling kinda changes over time. I mean, at first you get all smiley all the time and you've got butterflies and you're happy, and then it sort of turns into a contentment and just being comfortable around them.

I beat Transistor today, finally. I'd put it off for a while after my controller stopped working. What's with all these bittersweet endings? First Planetes and now Transistor. Either I just happen to be finding all the good stuff or I get emotional way too easy.

[spoilerThe most emotionally stirring line in the game]
"Hey, Red."
"Hey."

I finished Planetes last night. I cried. That is all.

I know right? Those last few episodes really put you through the wringer.
Emotional rollercoaster is an understatement.

This is bizarre...

After getting on the wrong train and going back and getting on the right one....

I appear to be in the future.
Everything is chrome, there's an led ticker display showing the next and final stations, and there's a voice announcement giving the same info.
Also there's no seats left.

I really hope Rising 2 happens soon, because that would be great.

Meanwhile, it's time to get cookin'!
The kitchen is being remodeled all week, so I have to get my cooking in now. Gonna make some stir fry and some chicken alfredo! Yea!

This has now become an inside joke at my house:

[I7] AlleeCat says, "well... I feel silly now"
[I7] Hunter asks, "Did you figure something out?"
[I7] AlleeCat says, "Turns out the problem wasn't even there. If I had just hit the arrow next to the error I would have found that incomplete piece of code I'd left and forgot about..."
[I7] AlleeCat says, ""Check examining the wounded crewman: If the wounded crewman is unconscious:" then nothing after"
[I7] vaporware says, "Ah, tricky."
[I7] AlleeCat says, "It also probably should have been apparent because of the added 'the' but I also got hung up on what turned out to be a typo for a good 30 minutes in the same code"

More Inform problems.

Code: [Select]
"A man sits slumped against a wall, visibly [if wounded crewman is unconscious]unconscious[otherwise]conscious[end if],

Code: [Select]
the door to the north has a large display over it saying 'BRIDGE' in big [if bridge door is unlocked]green[otherwise]red[end if] letters. Both of these are from descriptions. Both of them use values that are defined in the source code. The difference is, the second one works, while the first one does not. I've tested them individually and the only one that brings up errors is the first one. Why is that?

I can't find any real reasons why Inform would tell me I'm not using an if statement right, unless both of them were wrong, but one of them isn't.

CLARIFICATION:
The specific error is telling me that it doesn't recognize the phrase "if wounded crewman is unconscious."

Fun fact, apparently there are already two movies with the name Red Dust. Surprisingly, neither are about Mars.
