Regarding the chair graphics. They look nice, but they aren't chairs. Those are stools  ;D

Stools are seats featuring three or four legs. ... Stools may also stand taller than the typical table to fit a tall counter and bar. Chairs usually have four legs, a seat and a back. They can include arms or footrests.

Quick mockup to hopefully somewhat illustrate what I meant about the font and the green buttons.

Oh please NO!

Fonts that try to look fantasy-ish are the worst to read.
Please have a standard Serif or sans-serif font.

I think the left looks better, but the right might be closer to how rough walls usually look. The door on the left is interacting with the walls as if they were smooth walls.

Maybe the door on the left needs a doorpost on the right side and not just on the left side where the hinges are.
That would also make it obvious that there is a door there if it is open.
Just remove the "door" and have the two posts there.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / World / Embark Request
« on: April 10, 2020, 05:57:39 am »
.Does anyone have a 4x4 embark for 0.47.04

That has:

  • Temperate
  • Trees / Fruit trees
  • Flux stones
  • River/Brook/Stream
  • Shallow and deep metals
  • Caves system
  • Magma
  • Goblins
  • Dwarves
  • Elfs
  • Humans
  • Necromancers

I got a partial match in https://www.reddit.com/r/dwarffortress/comments/fwzxvq/lazy_newb_world/fmrwdb2?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x but that doesn't seem to have any caves and doesn't have any flowing water

Given that the Steam release is now underway,
It would be nice to include the recipes from this thread in the Wiki (https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Manager#Work_orders)

Even better would be if we could agree on one or two basic recipes for each workshop and have them included (but inactive) in the game, so that you could activate them to automate stuff.

Also, does anyone have new cool automation chains?
Recipes?
Not sure if you linked to the wrong thread there or if it changed since you posted but that article currently explains how to use the manager and not much else.

That's exactly my point, we should take some recipes from THIS thread on the forums and put there on the wiki.
I'm not sure on what the protocol for doing this is that's why I didn't do it myself (yet).

I think 3 years is kind of a good length, that's about where I quit.

I think after 3 years my fort is too big and there is too much data to process. I have what 20-40 dwarves and they all like and hate something different. There is no way I'm going to read 40 walls of texts about my dwarves to find out I need 60+ different stones and food types.

I'm all for a summary screen, but I'd also like the game to point out that "Hey this job order has been canceled 200 times now, it's causing people to be angry" or "Half of your dwarves haven't had a proper drink this season", "5/20 dwarves are sad about their clothing."

Maybe it could be a seasonal or yearly status-screen that shows if you have a Mayor and a manager and a Therapist.

I used to play a lot when there was a mod with Simplified leather, meat etc.
There was leather, fine leather, great leather I think, that way people that wanted leather clothes where easily satisfied, instead of someone only wanting giraffe leather clothes. It also helped with my inventory clutter.

Does it work with .NET Core for Linux?

DF General Discussion / Re: PeridexisErrant's DF Starter Pack
« on: June 19, 2017, 06:14:19 am »
So is it updated?

I updated using the PyLNP update function (which requires some explanation on how it actually works). I have the same problem as the others in this thread. The EXE doesn't do anything.

How is the folder structure supposed to look for the Starter Pack for automatic updates and automatic moving of items should work?

If you are taking suggestions, it would be nice to have a separate volume meter for music and everything else.

Try SoundCense http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=159567.msg7103403#msg7103403

Is there a way to update soundsense to work with the latest java, so I don't have to revert the program?

Try SoundCense, but I guess that's also a bit of work

this one...
and the original 2 websites that the author gives on the original post.

so is the latest version posted here. :(

When you run the "Starter Pack Launcher (PyLNP).exe" does it create a "stderr.txt" file?

My first run "stderr.txt" creates and contains:
Code: [Select]
Running PyLNP 0.12a (OS: win, Compiled: True)
WARNING: JSONConfiguration: File PyLNP.user does not exist
Then on exit it creates the "PyLNP.user" file that it complains about.

когда ожидается выход нового релиза?

Всякий раз, когда DFHack выпускает стабильную 64-разрядную версию (Google Translate)

Wow, i never thought someone could override the size of the icon in the audio mixer...
Seems to me like its a bug in the windows mixer. I only provided the icon.

Which windows version do you use?

Neither did I, but this app is the only one that has this problem.
I'm on Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Eh, It's a bit hard to control the volume in SoundCenSe since the icon covers the controls...

Whatever that links to, it isn't publicly-visible.

About 7 minutes after you tried to access the Image I gave you access.

And it should be a public link by now
