Historically, none of the releases have ever taken as long as this one.I'm betting 2014 is optimistic, especially if we factor the bug fixes and 3rd party tool updates that will inevitably be needed.
3rd party tool updates? Toady doesn't care about those one bit (and I don't blame him at all).
Also, bugfixes historically have never taken more than 3-4 months.
I...am...knackered...I have killed near a hundred geese, cats, and humans...I made it out of the city though...that...was...awesome. My character went from a whiny peasant to warrior goddess in the space of 36 hours...The way the game handles civ entities right now is that if you attack a member of an entity, the entire entity becomes your entity. They KNOW, whether or not anyone else was there to see it. This is going to be changed next release, but until then, don't murder the pets of a civ you don't want to fight.
Good to know that cats are a part of the civ though...makes sense...I did it at night though and no one really saw me so I don't understand...do they talk to the cats?
Don't become a vampire?any way I can avoid being slowed by becoming a vampire?
Vampirism doubles your strength, which doubles your muscle mass. IIRC, it also doubles your toughness, which makes a lot of your tissues and bones heavier. That's why you slow down.
pfft I know WHY I get slowed but can I avoid it?

A lot of people who wrote "D for Dwarf" articles would probably write ELVES in all caps without supporting details. It wasn't unheard of for men to run around in dresses in the middle ages, if I know my history.
I'm not one of those people.
I say 75% of my adventurer's parents, because I always make dudes who end up leaving home in skirts and dresses.
Those dudes, when they survive raiding bandits, usually take the leader's pants along with his armor, weapon, and wallet.
