What exactly does it take to convert a pagan tribal holding into a castle? Thankfully, I have enough nephews to make it their problem now, but holy wars are far from over.

There's absolutely nothing about Fallout 1 to 2 transition that would attribute the change that happened (Except for establishment of Broken Hills) to mutants.

Protagonist did tilt balance a bit, but only a bit. It could develop without him.

I said change happened off-screen. Protagonist's victory condition was to maintain status quo (Wasteland is basically the same and not overrun by mutants or Enclave) while NPCs change the world between games.

Bethesda making another sequel would once again see that the world is changed off-screen from Fallout 4 status quo.

Fallout 1 and 2 were actually about preservation of status quo. It didn't change the Wasteland, it prevented it from changing. Change happened off-screen, gradually. Fallout 3 was actually about changing status quo with all this purity stuff, but I didn't play into epilogue yet to see implications if any are present.

My territorial claims and holy wars resulted in a rather phallic Hungary. But it doesn't take me any closer to my plans to make an empire and this time to not lose it to an awkward law.

One thing unfortunate though - having 3 daughters and no sons certainly doesn't bode well for my succession.

because people can't walk across the wasteland, guys
If I were some poor fucker living in the Capital Wasteland, I'd be going to the commonwealth in a heartbeat. Same goes for the mojave, with the exception of New Vegas being relatively safe.
People travel across wasteland all the time. Not many of them, though.

Even if they still have health?

I don't know how hard they are on hard, but they are very clumsy. They have block moved by mouse that isn't even glued to cursor. How do you screw up this much?

I found the lockpick/hacking minigames in Fallout to be fun, but the hacking minigame does get a little old after a while.

On the other hand, the most annoying minigame I know is probably the hacking minigame from Bioshock, which wouldn't be stressful at all except they decided to put a timer on it for some reason, and I'm pretty sure you lose health from a failed hack.
Most annoying I encountered is hacking in Alpha Protocol. Not only it's a lousy eye-straining experience, the control is also terrible.

Lockpicking is at least quick and works on reflex. Fallout hacking is just a minute of staring into a puzzle I solved 100 times already straining my brain in the most boring possible way.

I wanted to propose "secrets of animating matter" one day. My idea is to see golems being made out of any rock with two gems for eyes and need a few fresh corpses to infuse them with soul. For adventure mode it would be just pile ingridients and cast an ability. NPC golemmasters would build their armies and harass people.

Could probably use some kind of hard cap on how many one can control.

Those minigames that are now everywhere. Lockpicking minigames, hacking minigames, whatever. I don't understand why they exist. Who is the guy who feel like he needs to add some match-four minigames in his game? Does anyone find hacking terminals in Fallout 3-4 fun? Was there some kind of review of original Fallout or Deus Ex or something that say "Yes, the game is really great, but it could use some sh**ty f**g minigames in it to be perfect"

And so ends a saga of my dynasty where poorly worded succession laws resulted in Emperor with no demesne. Once his brother realized that he's one with all the armies and money, he took over.

More likely you just put the guy in control of Ruthenia. There are specific conditions under which your claims are going to actually get you under control of the place you're pressing (you're de jure liege of the land which you're pressing the claim on or the person who has the claim is a member of your dynasty, mostly)
The province was independent for a moment before turning to Ruthenia. King of Ruthenia now changed.

Now I made primogeniture in my Empire but my kingdom of Hungaria is still Gravelkind and it doesn't seem too good.
UPD: And boy is it bad. I now have one province and everything else is divided between two kings. They are technically speaking my vassals, but considering I have slightly over 500 personal levy, it seems very very bad indeed. I even lost my capital somehow, and now reign in just build castle.

Need to learn to check whose claims I'm pressing. Pressed a claim against Ruthenia, won war and a guy swore fielthy back to Ruthenia. At least it was a good revolt bait.
