If I read this correctly, I can do it if they refuse to stop backing the plot, but nothing about being implicated in a plot.

I like how plots are handled.
"Hey, I noticed you want to kill me. Don't" "OK"

Finally, I'm an emperor of Carpathia. One problem, I'm posessed, gay heretic and hold too many duchies and medium crown authority. So nobody likes me.
Go full tyrant! People already hate you anyway.
Maybe I should've, but I died instead. Thanks to gravelkind my duchy problem is solved and so is my heresy problem.

All I need now is to convince my brother to not form a faction to steal my throne.

The best way to convince him would be by placing your brother in the Oubliette.

Regarding Gavelkind, make sure you don't have http://www.ckiiwiki.com/Elective_gavelkind instead.  And you thought regular Gavelkind was bad!  Only good thing about Elective Gavelkind is that your children/siblings will kindly create all those titles you omitted to create during your lifetime upon succession
for free!
(dunno if they get the prestige bonus, though, although your dynasty's prestige should skyrocket)
Hey, I'm a nice guy. I can make with no-agression pacts instead. I have plenty of other vassals who are so eager to part with their titles by forming factions.

I like how I can I just try to arrest a guy for plotting against somebody, they flee, I come after them and revoke their title. I think if they just surrendered, title would remain theirs.

Thanks to voices in my head I became a heretic and finally took over missing parts of my future empire. Also, became homosexual.

Gravelkind means effectively my heir will be left with nothing but capital province or what?

I decided to be a king of hungary. Got confused over big politics and what I can and can not do.

How can a guy with two sons have worrysome line of succession?
Are you in Gavelkind?
He's my vassal. So are his sons.

I think I figured out. It must be his wife's title. He's listed as a duke of some place in Holy Roman Empire.

I don't really like boss fights. I also think F4 plot structure is an improvement over Vegas. In Vegas branches got cut off very early so I didn't really get a good chance to get familiar with factions. In F4 they run concurrently.

I got so uneasy about faction choice by now, I dropped game altogether, but that's not the point.
Personally I feel the fact that you can run with whichever faction you want really feels weird and too gamey at certain times.

For example, the Railroad seem very eager to accept a distinguished BoS veteran in their midst, in spite of their strong opposition to the Brotherhood's views.
I didn't experience this that way. There are probably some weirdness you could generate, but for me it was being a double agent torn between ethical consideration of Railroad and pragmatic simathy for The Institute. Brotherhood oddly enough is the designated "Bad Guy I would never join play along with even out of curiosity" for me.

Some observations about mind domination - maybe could help someone:
  • Berserker can punch an andromedon into unconsciousness preventing him from rising as berserking suit
  • Gatekeepers rule, but subjectively they make worse bullet sponges then andromedons because nobody targets them
  • Zombies raised by mind-controlled gatekeeper are mind-controlled. If you lose control of gatekeeper they self-destruct and damage your final score

Don't neglect specialists on the final mission, they are extra help. Medical specialist is a lifesaver, and aid protocol with threat assesment is helpful for your vanguard.

I just tried mind controlling Andromedon myself, too. It was really good bullet sponge, because of all the armour. It also has grenades as ability.

This chrysalids cocoon is some terrible crap. I didn't encounter them on veteran, but now I consider just skip retaliation so I don't have to deal with it.

I've had like, once, when an assassination triggered at under 100% plot power, but that's been over 300+ hours. So at least cross 100% plot power.

Also, can you declare war outside the realm? Go after some pagans if you can. If you can't, try to work on assassinating the Emperor or forming/joining a faction to lower crown authority. The assassinating emperor is to try and get a regent in place who might lower crown authority, they tend to do that.
That's what I was hoping to do but whenever someone tries to do it, king's foreign allies roll into town. So at least I will have to see my king dead first. Also half of the world seem to have fabricated claims on me, so whenever I revolt, some Austrian jerk rolls into town.
Not sure about outside the realm, but everyone who's on par with me in terms of levies had been eaten by other nations.

What does it mean if I have "holding of wrong type"? I tried to get rid of this and accidentally granted a country to my nephew.
