I love the new trees, especially the fruit trees.Anybody knows how to harvest fruit?

No way to harvest fruit yet. Apparently it just falls off the trees overtime, but I'm not sure if that's actually the case or not.

I think it'd be a lot easier if you started say near the trade depot, or at least closer to the surface.

Eh, I've been getting this too, but without any action on my part.

Walked into a dwarf hillock, with three farmers and a goblin animal caretaker. The farmers just started wailing on the guy without a word, with the goblin asking if something was wrong...

And this has been a pretty pressing issue for a while. AFAIK, this plugin here is the only one that allows critters to break fully constructed walls. Sadly, I don't think it can be configured to allow megabeasts like titans to break walls.

I usually find sewer entrances inside the fort/keeps of lords in a human city.

Well, you could start by getting the latest version. And actually turning on invaders and stuff would also help ('cept aquifers of course  :P)

It's important to remember that DF is only as hard as you make it. Play safely, and you probably won't have a whole lot of fun.

Eh, considering Toady couldn't walk without a crash, I don't think it would have been a very enjoyable experience.
