General Discussion / Re: Things that made you go "WTF?" today o_O

Another debate, this time about moral responsibilities and corporations. Like blood diamonds or sweatshops.

One person made a thread on why weed should be legal. A few people shouted "COMMUNISM" and that profit is all we need in a capitalist society, and that our own laws are harsh and unnecessary on corporations. Some people blame the citizens of third-world countries for not having any human rights, and thus are letting themselves be abused.

There are reasonable posts, though. There are also posts I can barely read because English is not the first language of these students.

No one's even debating. Everyone just made their own separate thread. Barely any even have replies.

Isn't it a requirement of assignments like that to reply to two other threads with the presumption that it will encourage discussion? I took a jazz survey class like that, what counted for most posts was "i liked xyz and feel that xyz showed good use of $thischapter'sjazzconcept," with responses in line with "i agree with you that xyz did $thischapter'sjazzconcept well." It was dumb, but I suppose it was the cost of taking a jazz course online for university.

Or maybe this is just another forum somewhere, I might be projecting. Bit jarring to know they're your peers, huh.

Pretty sure inter-forums drama isn't allowed by the rules. These are classmates.

I wasn't trying to kick anything up nor implying that you were doing such, I just recall such class discussion assignment happening in the class's own semi-forum thing happening in a topic-and-response format (ala forum), and the assignments being dreadful. I remark 'these are your peers' the same way I think on the average Youtube commenter.

Maybe I've misread the whole thing?

Ah. Yeah, it's a pseudo-forum hosted online by the school. I wouldn't count those as proper forums, as they will eventually be completely erased, and hold no anonymity.

People aren't responding though. There's more than a dozen threads with no replies whatsoever, and people are either off-topic or extremist. Or nonsensical.

I kind of get the idea. Why mow the lawn if no-one's coming to visit?

Though many people like to keep their lawn trimmed just because it's their lawn, and they're proud of it. Others probably got some gum stuck in their lawn or something, I don't know their life.

In other news, my mother and one of her coworkers are conspiring to play matchmaker to hook me up with one of said coworker's cousins. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this, given I have no opportunities to meet people in a normal day and I've been stonewalled in online sources, but, y'know, I'm not sure I want my mother involved in my romantic life.

That sucks. And is a bit weird.

Pathfinder campaign's over. We had to kill an immortal by finding his heart, which was removed in the ritual for him to become immortal, and forcibly return it to his body.

Luckily, I took grappling feats, so we didn't have to beat him into unconsciousness before we fist-fucked his chest-cavity.

Next up is another player being DM. Gestalt, really high point-buy, and the firearm rules are 'Guns Everywhere'. This means that guns are simple weapons, cost only 10% as much as normal, and any class or archetype that normally gets the Gunsmithing feat instead gets the Firearm Training feature, gaining Dex to Damage with the gun of their choice. This campaign will mostly be testing for a cowboy style campaign in the future.

Anyone have experience in a gun-filled campaign, or any ideas of character types? My current idea is one I've been wanting to do for a while, with a Commando style character. Uses Alchemist Bombs, guns, and Sneak Attacks. Shame Bombs are limited to Alchemists, one Wizard Archetype, and an underwhelming Rogue Talent.

Fucking about on videogames, reddit, and other such.

I forget to take out the garbage, deal with the dishes, other chores. Don't call people I said I would. Including both family and driving instructors. I only really shower every other day instead of every day.

I've been getting screamed at and given stern talks to more and more, so I'm quite positive people are pissed at me.

Not really. I don't do fuck all about the house except sit on my computer. No car, only a beginner's license. Not one for conversation. It's driving everybody up the wall, and I don't intend to do it, I'm just a forgetful, lazy shit.

Might help if we could see the interaction raws, and to know the conditions you were testing under. May just be Arena Mode being weird, or not generating a new world between testings.

Wasted a week reading a post-apocalyptic comic series. Nothing like a series that makes it clear how hopeless the situation is but still strings along hope to reel you in. Then nope, it gets worse. Fuck me, what a non-ending. Left me feeling heavy.

Also inadvertently pissing off a lot of people around me because of my lack of basic awareness or drive to do shit. I'm a fucking leech.

Ads have begun to find their way past my adblocker on YouTube.

I don't necessarily mind ads, but they shouldn't play in the middle of the fucking video. Or at the end.

If I wanted 10 minutes of ads for 5 minutes of content, I'd watch TV.

Can't just merge it all, unfortunately. Teacher said that the junglegym has to be modular, with any part being capable of being removed.

He also said that even though it should be like a junglegym, it should be nothing like a junglegym. It should also be for children, but not for children because if they played there they would die. It should also be like a level in a videogame, but not like a level.

It's left the class rather confused. But the teacher likes what I've done so far, so that's okay. Only complaints were the rope not looking enough like rope, the bell not looking enough like a bell, and the range of colours should be much wider. I've addressed that all as much as I could.

Other than a few things like the bell and the slide, nothing has been warped beyond basic scaling. The smoothing system in Maya just seems to be incredibly zealous whenever I try it.

Double-poop, and a spoop.

imgur makes for terrible quality, and attempts to smooth the castle were met with ruin:

I think it's done now anyways. The teacher is a bit vague on what he wants for this assignment, though.

Thanks for replying.

I had been toying around with the animation graph editor in every way I could think of, but I haven't been able to fully smooth out the curve of the ball paths. It seems too angular, or yanking, as you said.

I will keep acceleration in mind in the future though.

Cannot into anatomy. Also, again, I would very much appreciate feedback on my animusic. That was genuinely a huge thing for me and I've yet to get feedback from anywhere I've spammed it.
