From a diary of Countess Monitor Lizard of Chamberdrums:

"The significant day has come! Today, when our haulers were moving troll bodies to the junkyard, Grim informed me that our king Melbil had arrived! I asked our broker to gather the team in our secret meeting hall and then headed to my office. A stout-looking, modestly dressed dwarf and his wife were patiently waiting for me next to my quarters doors. I greeted them as politely as I could, inviting them to my throne room. The king seemed to be pleased. He commended on our work, calling us "honest members of dwarven society". Last time I saw this face when I was in a courthouse, sitting side by side with Firecrazy, Magni, Grim, Daria, Nuckles and Rufus, my face beaten with training swords. But this time, I am not a wretched criminal - I am the Countess of Chamberdrums now.

Grim says that king Melbil has many relatives here. I think we should be merciful with them. Who knows, maybe they were meant to be confined too. Some dwarves think othervise, though. Well, we'll discuss it on our meeting.

One more thing: today Obok came to my office and told me that he had some kind of a dream about about trap we were making for the king. Rumours about that have been circulating for a long time, so I decided to tell him everything. No wonder he approved of our idea - he calls Chamberdrums his home."

I'll start a new poll about the king and his family soon.

Actually, I wasn't really familiar with that raws you're using, so it ended up as a total mayhem. I'll upload the save.

That would be great. As we have no new players on our list, you can download the save and start right away.

Some notes for the future overseer:
1. We need  more soap.
2. More cheese is also required.
3. Please, dorf Evilx as Grey Dwarf the hammerdwarf.
4. There's a pile of trolls bodies right next to the bridge. I think we should dump the corpses once again.
5. The fortress lacks proper front doors. They must have been destroyed by invaders or something.

Wow, you did a great job saving the fortress from tantrum spiral... Man, I wonder how Lizard reacts to those new suites of Roughrogue. I guess I should make her a champion.

So , anyone willing to take a turn? If not, I'll do the second intermission.

Ok, here's some information about my project. I would be called "Terrarium." It features a large green glass box standing on a stone pedestal with some cages and terrariums inside it. I emabarked to the southeast of Whitecastle. The embark site is called "Crystalstone".

Some of the dwarves including the new Chief Medic are still tantruming, so treatment may be a little late.

Actually, most of these are old wounds, exept for that scratch on his hace.

Before I start playing: Is it nesessary to use nanofortress or I can just choose a small emabark? One more thing - what do I do with the finished building? Abandon it?

Great story, Dreamerghost! By the way, here's the second part:

"I had a small talk with one of the locals, Dreamerghost. He appears to be quite a nice dwarf... You know, the one that that can be reserved and honest at the same time. That guy resembles some kind of an experienced adventurer who has lived among humans for a long time - a dwarf open to new ideas, who doesn't pay attention to stereotypes, travelling with dwarven, human, elven or other companions. I desided to give him a small present to estabilish our friendly relations - something that is useful on a trail. It is called binoculars - basically, it's an improved version of spyglass with two metal tubes, which makes measuring distance much easier. I guess I should construct one more device and give it to the overseer.

Anyway, the night was still going on and I continued drinking with Selore. I grabbed a keg of ale from under the bar and, having received a displeased look from the cooks, threw them a bag of silver denarii. They quickly changed their opinion on me, leaving us with good mugs of ale and a plate full of plump helmet cookies.

- Hey, Selore, do you love singing? - I asked, munching on cookies. She nodded.
- Oh yes, I do...
- Let's sing then. Just repeat my words.

- And don't ask why - Selore sang. Then she started mumbling something about "handsome men". Whatever. Dwarf, they need a bar here."

"Ya knew her, right? - A short, stubby dwarfette took a swig from her small silver flask and glanced at Selore. Although tigerwomans face was covered in thick fur, it was no harder to understand her facial expressions then those of a usual dwarf. One could have said without doubt she could burst into tears any minute. Alligator felt sorry for her, but she did not know what to say.
- I see it in your eyes... Come here, baby. - Selore sobbed and firmly hugged Alligator. She sighed.
- Here. Have a drink... Let's go... We're going to call it all to memory, recall it all... you know, back in the north we love gathering round in mead halls to sink our depression... Where's the bar... Don't you have a bar? A canteen? That will go.

They're gonna pay... They're all gonna pay... Say what? I'm gonna snipe their sorry arses... Ever heard about optical scopes? No? What do you tribals know about glass... Once I was working on an underground glass goblets factory. We were making goblets and selling them to local lizardmen... Oh, poor Lizard. She was an outstanding mason, a good warrior and a great friend.

What is this brew? Moonglow? Never heard about this kind of stuff. I prefer dwarven rum, actually.

You tribesmen look so funny when d-drunk... Dwarf, look at those whiskers! No offence, really... Oh, what are you doing, kid? Stop scratching the walls! They're made of stone...

Ya know, I saw the king a bunch of days ago. He's so young. What are you doing, Selore? Stop licking that dwarf! Excuse me, good sir, she's just a bit drunk. What's your name? Pleased to meet you, Dreamerghost."
