Veren most likely died in a noble manner, but although he was unmarked, he shall not be forgotten!  Great updates as always.

I'd appreciate a female gladiator dwarf named Marisa please. c:

So flying above the wall was apparently not an option.  Frustrated, Lilia lands with a dissatisfied grumble.  If she could not breach the fence then she wouldn't be able to leave, and that is unacceptable.  Lilia feels the strong desire to find a chink in the mansion's armor and begins scrutinizing every possible surface or method for getting in.  In fact, she becomes so absorbed with her task that she forgets all about Harvey or other annoying entities.  No matter how solid the slate gray walls and iron spikes appear, the rickety structure in the buried city will not win over her!

Lilia does not yet realize how motivated this mission has forced her to be.

Roll To Dodge / Re: Roll to Dodge the Tyger: Turn 15: Dark of the Night

((Or you could have just thrown me down a waterfall anyway.  Who am I kidding.  :D ))

Swimming in random directions during the night would be more trouble than its worth, but at least the currents aren't as strong as she anticipated now that the flow of water was slightly decreasing.  What wasn't decreasing was that all-permeating wet that sent small chills down her small body, and neither was her wound's blood flow.  Untrained in first aid, the girl only knew very basic techniques, and she had less than basic supplies as well giving her current location.

Annie tries to rip off a bit of shirt and stop the bleeding of her injured arm as much as she can.

((If this were a literal rp, I'd be annoyed with my character being played for me as well.  But I find it acceptable here because we're playing a game controlled by a GM.  Extra actions added to what my character did surprised me at first, but I find this unexpectedness makes it more fun.  Please keep doing that for Wisteria, webadict.))

"Such a nice gentleman! Wisteria gurgled appreciatively as she bobbed peacefully among the waves now that the whirlpool had subsided.  She had always known it was good to be prepared for anything, so swimming lessons had been an obligatory class once she learned she'd be traveling by boat.  Sadly the water was quite cold and dull compared to the blistering hot excitement going on on deck.  Thus Wisteria set out to remedy this situation immediately.

"Ah~!  So cold and watery!  But this is the ocean after all... I wonder if I'll see some sharks?  Or a whale!  I would like to see a whale very much!  I wonder what's going on back on the boat!  I want to see!  This is the best cruise ever and I'm so glad father was able to pay for it!" Wisteria declares through sea salt.  She does her best to find a way back onto the boat as quickly as possible!

With her screams cut short by the lapping waves of the lake, Annie finds herself being dragged merrily along by a strong current.  Crimson flowed away from the incredibly deep gash along her hand and arm.  That really needed tending.  Unfortunately that is difficult to attend while being dragged by a mass of water.

Trying to concentrate against the ebbing pain that sears across her wound, Annie attempts to swim against the current.  She had a terrible feeling that the exeetion would be worth it, for powerful currents such as this one usually marked waterfalls!

DIVE INTO THE GIANT CHEESECAKE AND EAT WHATEVER CHOCOLATE PARTS THERE ARE.

Nobody was bothering her anymore, which relieved Lilia immensely.  Harvey was doing whatever Harvey does , most likely for the attention of his adoring fans.

Lilia attempts at levitating herself over the quiet part of the wall.  If she could float out of a pit, this may not be too hard.  The spikes decorating the top seemed like a small issue, but she could probably dodge them.  Hopefully.

((You'll die happy knowing I can do the same with my mind and I may do it again if your man pulls too many uncomfortable moves on my character.  :P ))

A fine seafarin' bird like this one deserrrves a suitable name.  But ain't an fightin' bird, he be a diplomat.  An' any good diplomatic bird deserrrves a suave name.  Ah name me new pet Charles, then head off t' find some suitable food supplies fer me bird and me crew.

"Wonder if ye can say anythin' more.  What did that lady teach ye?"

"What a nice gentleman!" Wisteria declares, breathless, surprisingly unable to add any further comments for possibly the first time.

Ah, I still don't have anything good to defend myself with.  That could possibly be an issue if I am assaulted by rogue pirates.  Somehow I don't think they want any money or diplomacy, so maybe I should try to find something that I could use for violent diplomacy!  I received some close-combat training, but I'm not sure I could dodge a hailstorm of bullets in order to approach unfriendly hostiles..."  Wisteria searches around the deck of the merchant's ship to find a good weapon to arm herself with.  A pistol or dagger would do quite nicely, but somehow it seemed as if all the dead bodies went missing.

"Ooh, are those shark hands?  What an impressive set of gloves!  They look oddly fresh- perhaps they were made now, in the heat of battle!  Fighting is exciting and invigorating, just like other forms of exercise~!  Although I do think it's a bit more dangerous.  I would have been fine with an aerobics class for a cruise activity!"

"Good try, but looks like somebody's home.  I do the same thing, so it was too easy to notice." Lilia smirks as she pauses to examine her opponent- the lock.  Just as she was about to activate her magic, she hears voices.  Cocking her head back slightly, she notices that both Harvey and a new girl she hadn't spoken to yet were trailing her.  She could handle the girl... but Harvey?  Not as much.

Giving no sign that she's aware she's being followed, Lilia attempts to use her powers to mentally pick the lock.  If that refuses to work, she'll try going around back.  Levitation was always an option, but here it looked like an awfully spiky one, and she did't want to test that out in front of the occupied house, oh no.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: What type of DF player you are?
« on: August 14, 2013, 10:57:09 am »
Although I'm still decently new to the whole DF experience, I like to think of myself as a "reactive" player.

I have zero inspiration to build large-scale projects or even experiment with machinery.  I play DF for the randomly generated stories.  I tend not to do anything or build anything unless I find I need it.  Whenever something new pops in my caverns, I send the military to dispatch it, and I won't call dwarves away unless it's something huge like an FB or giant monster.  When strange moods happen, I let the dwarves make what they want, and the only burrow I have is an outdated danger burrow that's too small for the current population.

My dwarves exist to tell legends to me.  If they aren't earning cool titles or entertaining me with combat reports, then things are getting dull.  I will never look for candy because the risk vs. reward ratio doesn't cut it for me, and I may not breach magma either because I have enough weapons and wood to fuel my wood-burning forges.  I react, and I don't usually plan either, so my fortress looks like a mess and has only a few rock-fall traps, namely because I never get sieges.

"Oh, brains!  Brains!  I never knew they were such an odd and disgusting color!  This weird soft matter is what drives people's thoughts and creates all the wonders in the world?  Cool!  Oww!  I think my ankle twisted.  Not to worry, it doesn't seem broken.  That headsplosion was so awesome by the way!  I mean it!  BOOM, and that pirate guy's face flew off!  Brains, ugh..."

What a crazy fall!  Expecting to collide with the pirate, not air, Wisteria now found herself in a pile of splinters.  Hopefully she'll be able to avoid most of them.  Indeed, it seems she had landed in the ship's quite illustrious galley!  Snack time was later.  There was an event scheduled on deck and Wisteria still wanted to rejoin the fun!

Wisteria tries to get up and hobble back up the nearest flight of stairs to the deck.  If Kyle succeeds in coming to help her, accept it with grace.

Roll To Dodge / Re: Ye Arr a Pirate

Aww rrright!  Now that I 'ave me a fine weapon and some morrre gold, I visit a cerrrtain pet emporrrium and inquire 'bout a good seafarin' companion.  A parrot orr tame rat would do.  Afterr all, any respectin' pirate has a companion, and I be havin' to look imporrrtant as the diplomat.

Roll To Dodge / Re: The Game Not Named Asthuria - Turn 1: Naut Today!
« on: August 13, 2013, 08:07:25 pm »
"Ooh wow!  This spyglass is so pretty!  You're welcome Captain Nautingham, I just love helping others out, it feels great, just like the sea air!  I've never been to the ocean before, it's very nice and fresh!  Everything is clean- hey sharks!  Wow, they are so big!  Oh, we're still fighting!  Well, fighting uses weapons and I still don't have a good one!  Should I get a pistol or a dagger?  Pistols are good for ranged combat, but if a pirate gets near me a dagger would be good for cutting him and getting him away from me, which would then require a pistol..." Wisteria continues talking, immediately getting over her small burst of fear when the pirate attacked.  As a sheltered young woman, close-combat had never occurred near her home.  She watches as a pirate attempts to choke a fellow crewmember, perhaps she should be helping, oops!

"Now that's taking it a bit far!  I can pay all of you if you'd just leave!  My parents are the wealthy and influential Silvers, and they own the gold and metals market!  So if you really need some cash, I'd be happy to lend you a little!  Seriously!  Stop!" she yells, running over to Kyle and aiming a kick at his aggressor.  Weapons could wait, this man was clearly in danger and in need of a strong figure to help him!

((I know.  Seriously.  If you can stand all of this, I applaud you, because it sounds so high-pitched when I hear it in my head.))
