In year 258 the liason visited me. We drafted an export agreement and the fortress was upgraded to a barony.

The traders never setup show though. One merchant kept walking around (topside, within the walls of my fortress) and they eventually left.

It's now year 261 and autumn just ended. No liasons and no caravans in three years.

I think i read somewhere that it might be caused by a siege on the kings home. But how do i identify this is the case and that it's not my fortress that is bugged?

Hi all, I have about 13 quils written by the best scribes my fortress can muster. These works of art and culture must be preserved.
My metalsmiths have forged a beutiful golden Bookbinder.
My craftdwarf has used 1 quil and 1 bookbinder to create a book.
But can't i add more pages to the book? The description even says it only has one quil.

Is there anything we can do to give you more information?

I too face these crashes. It seems to happen more frequently when i build a lot fast. If it's related to doing commands fast or simply that i am building a lot; i don't know.

Are there logs i can find and give you? Some sort of verbose debug mode or similiar?

My eyes cry when playing with TWBT :)

Active/Training already says "Training"

I can force them into the military status by puttin them on "alert" and activating "Active/Training". But im worried they won't eat, sleep or similiar in that status.

Hi all,
I have been "blessed" with a very very quiet start. So far not as much as a Goblin thief has tried entering my fortress.

This means i now have a full squadron of Axe Lords who have been able to do nothing but train.

My axe lords started out as peasants. And thats the problem.

Why do they keep appearing as Peasant instead of their awesome title as Axe Lord?

As soon as i station their squadron they immediately take the Axe Lord title upon themselves (and the blue armor icon in Phobeus). I would love for them to stay this way, if not for looks and title, then for statistical purposes.

Is there anything i can do to force them to give up their civilian lives permanently?

I know this is a necro, but seeing as this topic never got a solution posted AND it shows up at the top of a "dwarf fortress furniture stockpile not working" search i figured i would add a solution for anyone else comming here.

The issue (for me) was caused by me accidnetly giving dwarfs orders not to haul furniture.

Fix was -> (O)rders -> Dwarves Gather f(U)rniture

Hey all,
Im trying to paint some marble in my fortress, but tiletypes doesn't seem to understand "paint stone MARBLE"
This should be a feature in tiletypes according to the GIT help page:

The last change to tiletypes.cpp was 4 months ago, and the one before that over a year. So it cant be that it's not in DFHack binary yet?

Im using 0.34-11-r3 (bundled with PeridexisErrant LN)

Can you enable/disable a preassure plate from a lever?

I am only interrested in sealing the kill room when it's elves or enemies who trigger the preassure plate. Not Urist McGuffin', Master Wax Worker returning from collecting plants

Hey all,
I am pretty well defended in a topside keep. Thick walls and numerous bridges keep me safe in case of attacks.

I have created a "killing room" with a checkerboard of steel spikes just waiting to be punched up and down into enemies above. But im having problems getting my enemies in there.

Once i get attacked i quickly close all bridges between the killing room and my dwarfs. The attackers instantly stop moving and start killing other stuff instead (random animals or stray dwarfs out on a hunt)

While i commend the AI not blindly running as far into the keep as they can, i do wonder how i can actually get them to run towards my keep and the traps i have in store.

I have tried keeping the bridges down just long enough to get them to the kill room, but dwarfs are terribly unrealible once they are in (timing is of the essence before them get further into the keep).

What can i do to satisfy the AI pathing and prevent attacks?

So i cant change their proffession to Axelord or similiar proffession with a military look?

Im trying to build a full time military. My dwarves keep reverting to their other professions when out of combat though

Despite them being higher level in Axe or Shortsword than mining

Do they preserve their military status once they reach a higher level with a type of weapon?

They also seem to drop armor wherever they stand when dismissed.

How can i keep my military suited up and looking "militaryish"?
