And that's how Bay12 was invaded by the people's liberation army of the Monsanto republic.

Lucky for us, Bay12 is equipped with enough "‼" symbols to destroy the world several times over.

I seem to be rapidly becoming a part of some kind of heavily armed bed and breakfast task force, who answer only to a dwarf known to one and all as "That Bitch." I approve of this.

If I will be training during my time at the hospitality complex, the two months of training beforehand are not necessary. He can just work as a guard for six months, and render any services needed during the rest of the year.

I just extracted it to a folder on my (windows 8) desktop and it worked just fine. I didn't even take the executable out of the folder, I just open it up when I want to play. It's easier that way.

As a bouncer, I would guard the establishment during the agreed upon times. Largely for flavor it seems, but a skilled swordsdwarf who buys his own equipment is always good to have. Especially one with such a loose job description... My offer was in response to Timeless Bob's post, but if he isn't interested anymore, Baffler goes where the work is.

We may have to do a Bolivian Army Ending. I still firmly believe no force in this world or the one below can put Fischer in the ground (or Dauros, for that matter).

Unfortunately, we don't really have a viable alternative right now. The current major parties are both VERY good at absorbing or quashing any others that crop up. If the Republicans explode sufficiently there might be a decent power vacuum for a new conservative party to emerge, but the only groups currently capable of filling that role are even worse than the current actors.

Baffler is interested in a bouncer job, if room and board comes with it. He would still perform his odd job duties, of course, it is important to the character. How many months out of the year are you thinking? If he could just be stationed there for a four month stint, train for two months beforehand, and work random jobs for the other half of the year that would be ideal, both for the character and for Lectorog, who could set that up with minimal headache. That would allow him time to train too. Room and board is enough for him, he is a simple dwarf. But year round room and board would be cool.

Baffler prefers to preform services in exchange for goods as a rule, so any money offered will most likely be refused. Goods offered as payment are not out of the question.

I didn't say we didn't deserve it :P

Not the nation I had in mind, but you go where the work is.

Yes. And a raid on monsanto sounds like a good idea. If anyone has the technology to create our staple dwarven crops, it's them. Dwarven wine and +Quarry Bush Roasts+ for everyone!

Maybe all those out of work nuclear and rocket scientists can find work in a certain smoothly running country, which is far superior in every way to it's southern neighbor.

If only they weren't so preoccupied. I guess I'll write their arguments for them. Maybe something along the lines of...

"See! Obamacare's site barely runs! It's like a digital version of the long lines in the countries that already have these socialist healthcare schemes! The American people deserve better than this! We're the greatest nation on Earth, and we can't even get basic medical care to our people. This is exactly the kind of thing you expect from this administration!"

5293
Personally, I'd return the barbed bait.

"Sure. But only if we pick which orgs and programs go together in which bills."

Then put NASA and EPA in the bill for military R&D.

Watch the blood boil.

They would have no choice but to...

send it back amended and start again, ad nauseam. They're nothing if not predictable.

Perhaps incentives for legislatures would be a good place to start implementing some of the direct democracy we're now absolutely capable of.  Make congressional salaries tied to approval ratings.  Open up some sort of vote during crisis like these for the population to have a direct say.

This seems rather counter intuitive, or at least conducive to bribery. I think the exact opposite should be true, congressmen have a set income, and cannot make anything over or under that amount, so that their own personal financial interests don't affect their decisions. Double liberal points if any money they make in excess of that sum is funneled into social programs. Serving the people indeed ;)

Who was that guy in the video you linked earlier, MSH? My google-fu is weak. Is he an important figure? Or just some guy?
