Nothing Ever Happens in Greenville is my latest foray into GMing on Bay12. In essence, it's like one of the generic high-school roleplays from the Twilight Academy heyday, mixed with the plot and fantastical elements of Akroma's Occult Hobby. I've had the idea in my head for a while but never really did anything with it until now.also it's an excuse to reuse fan favorite emmett, so that's cool

Welcome to Greenville
Hi! Welcome to Greenville, Ohio. (No, not that one. This one's to the east, near Pittsburgh. We get that a lot.) The place where absolutely, positively, not-quite-literally-but-damn-if-it-isn't-close-to nothing happens. Some say the last piece of noteworthy history that occurred here was the old mayor dying seventeen years ago, and they're totally right. Nobody in Greenville is rich, or famous, or important in any way, shape, or form. You would be more intellectually stimulated by watching paint dry than anything you would do during the hour or so it takes most people when they drive through on the way to someplace else.
Or, at least, that's what we want you to think.
The real story: crazy shit goes on here. All the time. You know what a liminal space is? One of those weird places that's right between one thing and another, like a highway rest stop? Greenville is a liminal space. The whole city. Maybe not officially, but close enough. It's right between "normal" and "a bunch of crazy shit that makes absolutely no sense". Our only problem is that the rest of the country would probably go ape if they found out that sometimes in Greenville you can just turn invisible for no reason, so we keep it a secret. All of us. Together. It's our thing, like how Concordians have being a famous battle site or New Yorkers have being fucking assholes for no reason. And it works out pretty well. Every so often we get someone who stays overnight, and they almost always get freaked out by the crazy shit and try to tell someone, but we don't worry. Nobody believes them.
Because, really, if someone came from Greenville and told you they saw an alien having a nice chat with former president Abraham Lincoln...
...after you found out which Greenville they meant, would you believe them?
