Well, I think there's a different between being weak and being primitive and being so freakin' stupid to keep pathetically dying for smashed brains the first seconds your people enters in combat and yet not develop a protection for it.
Legendary Leatherworker: "How is our Tribal Machetebold doing with my new dragonscale armor?"
Peasant: "Oh, he got smashed in the head because we are being kept from making armors that full cover ourselves."
Legendary pointless Leatherworker: "Oh, well, that kinda sucks. I hate when it happens."
Peasant: "Yeah, me too."
I'll make sure my Kobolds are master dodgers, then I'll see how long it takes to kill them. One thing is making fighting hard, another is making it pointless.

But if they are Bloodsteelclad, shouldn't they be hard kill with, say, copper? As it stands, they are broken because of the caps.

Because Lizards and Vipers and Badgers are advertised for melee. I can understand they are fragile, but come come on, he was sent to kill cave beetles, armored with twice of what cave beetles are made of by a legendary leatherworker. Greenskin Kobold at the mountain caves laught at me. Was it my fault again? :-\ Even if a Kobold's military equipment matchs more a cyclist's than a soldier's. What about implementing Helmets, anyway? Also, if you would compare the fragility of Kobolds in melee combat to the one of some creature, what would it be? Won't you say chicken.

My clubbold, who had an exception rigid chitinplate cap, got bit in the head by a cave beetle and died. In the report, the bite wasn't even throught the cap, it just ignored it. Is this normal?

Will I have to throw away my current fort because I can't make glass windows? :'( (no, oil bottle green glass doesn't really count at all)
Anyway, I asked because you don't make helmets native to kobolds. I tried armoring one in the arena with it and it worked.

Yes. I think it crashed on the "Block all" button, but I am not so sure. I managed to make separate wood stockpiles now, I'll see if a crash happens again. And yes, I've got the save.

A bowyer had a fey mood. To get him to use the more precious Nether logs, my game crashed. I placed a wood stockpile near his workshop and when I was personalizing it to accept only wood the game crashed. Reload save, another Carpenter goes moody and I crash again customizating the wood stockpile.
