File should be at the file depot under the named of Steelhold Karius' Leave uploaded by Oshha.

Karius strolls towards the entrance and exit to Steelhold. His reign as overseer is at the end. He shouldn't have stayed, but the vampires and Alatha persuaded him to stay and try and restore some of Steelhold's glory. But his mission was to stop Oku and she had left before Karius even arrived at this place. Now with the vampires dealt with and Alatha slain. Most of the survivors of Steelhold are Rhakenists so his former leige's legacy is assured for the time being. Now Karius has dealt with the vampires. The two children, including Alatha's murderer, are walled off near Hell's entrance. The a couple have gone crazy and are no threat. Those that are injured are locked away or walled off and the military is not allowed in the fortress. And the queen as been locked in a cage since before he arrived. A few tried to sneak into the fortress so Karius as ordered that doors be locked went people go to sleep. Now Karius plans to hunt down Oku and hope Steelhold won't cause any problems for the rest of the world. He'll take up control of Rhaken's spy network and continue the old man's plans. Hopefully Shank shall keep an eye on Steelhold and dealt with problems. Should anything of note happened, Karius as requested to Shank that he inform Karius. Now with some advice left the next overseer. Now Alatha dead, Karius has a hole in his heart and nothing to make him stay at Steelhold other than painful memories.

- Keep the vampires separate from the main workforce if Steelhold is to survive.
- Only open the gates into Steelhold to allow migrants in to increase the workforce.
- If vampires return to the fortress, lock the doors to where any dwarves are sleeping while they sleep.
- Don't kill Shank or Asmoth. Asmoth may be important if you have to deal with any magic. Don't anger the Rhakenists either.
- Ghosts are starting to pop up.

OOC: Karius has left the fortress to deal with Oku, who has also already left. He'll try to take control of Rhaken's old spy network and has left Shank as his spy at Steelhold and request that he try and kill Alatha's killer. He sort of fell in love with Alatha, but she died so he no reason to stay with the vampires under control and Oku having already left Steelhold. I think I had a good first community fortress turn. The next overseer should do something about the ghosts starting to appear.

I compressed the fail and I'm ready to upload it, but I want to write about Karius leaving Steelhold to hunt down Oku in the name of Rhaken and Lorius. He'll leave a few tips for the next overseer for dealing with the surviving vampires as well a Rhakenist Government in charge of Steelhold.

Karius hides as Shank, his new loyal captain of the guard, contains the two surviving vampire children. While all of the surviving vampires, mostly surviving Rhakenists, are in the military, the two children ones had slipped Karius' mind. They slowly killed off the workforce, Karius only discovering it when he went to visit Alatha one night only to the find the woman having her blood drain by Thikut, the vampire girl and daughter of that fiend Asmoth. Karius will have deal with the vampire children if he and the new migrants that will make up the workforce are to survive.

Not much going on in Steelhold. I abandoned my write up after I couldn't regain my train of thought. Little has happened as I'm playing it safe. I now got a fully vampire military at eternal watch at the gates while the new migrants have replace the workforce that those pair of surviving vampire children killed everyone, but Karius. We had a siege, but only a war troll actually reached the military. So rather boring, especially since I played an exciting game of risk afterwards.

Also this is my first time at Community Fortress and with magma and adamantine.

I'm playing it safe now so I won't kill Steelhold, but the next overseer can't be stupid and mess up like I did.

People seem to think that I purposefully killed most of our population. I didn't. When I was containing the vampire population, I made an honest mistake. Simply storywise Karius killed off most of the vampires, gamewise I blundered big time, but saved over a quarter of the population and all of the name dwarves. In other news, I reached Autumn and almost finished writing a big update when a member of my family turned off the power by mistake. I lost half my write up, but Steelhold was fine because I save it about twenty minutes before. I then had and have family activities I committed to in real life to do.

Don't worry we still got over thirty still alive and migrants coming. We now have a normal workforce and a vampire military. The next overseer should be very careful however. I'll finish the write up tonight and post a proper update at the weekend. I was ill last night and today to the point of puking, but I seem to be better now.

Karius marches towards the fortress of Steelhold with the rest of the migrant. Within moments of his arrival, the agent has discovered a horrible fact, the entire fortress is infested minus Alatha, who has faked vampirism with the aid the of the Gods. Still, he quickly declares himself overseer, something no one seems to want right now due to the fates of the previous ones. Still, Karius disbands the military minus a few to maintain a watch in case of goblins attacking. The vampires are set in a large with the exception of Asmoth and the imprisoned queen. Alatha and the others who aren't vampires, very few indeed, get to work.

The citizens of Steelhold mutter amongst themselves. The new overseer has ordered them down here without any reason. Almost all them stop talking when they hear a pick mining. They turn towards the noise just in time to see one of the more devoted of Lorius' clerics mining away at the adamantine before magma comes bursting through. A some of them try to flee only to find the non-vampires walling off the area. Minus a few that fled into the adamantine stockpiles, all are destroyed by the lava by summer.

Karius smiles. With the vampire population under control, he can now recruit any remaining vampires into the military. They'll watch for enemies without tiring, getting thirsty or hungry and half of those surviving vampires are in the hospital. Now he can start to rebuild Steelhold without the worry of dying in his sleep.

OOC: When I used a burrow to contain the non-named vampires and then wall them off, I decided to mine some adamantine, having never reached it before in my own fortress. Not realising it was all that stood before the lava and the fortress. So by the time the elves came, almost all of the vampires were dead and half the survivors in hospital. I then recruit all of the remaining vampires into the military and I'm going to rebuild workforce with normal dwarves using migrants. So due to a blunder on my part due to inexperience, I managed to effectively deal with the a problem in character. Plus its summer now.

Everyone is a vampire because I thought it would be funny. And it totally was. It may be somewhat difficult keeping any migrants you get alive though. I had a vampire down one of the wells to keep the water contaminated, but I think he swam out through the floodgate or something, so you'll have to drop a new one down there if you want to prevent the newcomers becoming dinner.

I've already dealt with that problem in the way Karius Durtis, my new dwarf and the new overseer, would deal with it in character through not quite like he would due to rule III and me trying not to kill any named dwarves if I can help it. Don't worry, we still have decent population and I was all caused by an honest blunder. Usually if I made a mistake like the one I did, I would ditch the fortress or try and limit the damage, but I figured how to make it into a good story for the thread. I will speak more of this tomorrow. And I repeat again, we still have a decent amount of survivors and no named dwarves died. Plus there's a good story behind it.

Why is everyone a vampire and how did that happen?!
