Don't the game have a whole class dedicated to jetpacking around now?

I have to say, I am quite impressed at that gold on the moon explanation.
You'd have to go far to find anything more poorly written or thought out than that. But I digress.

Is this game still active in any sense of the word?

I can't actually wrap my head around the system... Or I can't really get myself involved in it. Every aspect of the skill training system bugs the perfectionist in me.

I'm sure other people have managed to thrive and build settlements and done all kinds of crazy things, but I am just not feeling the progress here... That little endorphin rewarding button in our heads that makes us keep coming back to Facebook games and other base trivial entertainments. Simply a Sisyphean chore which goes nowhere, it's been a week, I am -still- in a crude leanto... I can't even BUILD leantos. It was part of the free ride into the wilds package.

Whereas in HnH, starting from nothing, I have a leanto up in a few hours, a claim in a day, a small cabin and crude leatherworkiing in two days, in three days I even got a fence and have started looking for seeds.

Maybe I'm just inexperienced and have no idea what I am doing, But I can't help but feel this is not very compelling or rewarding gameplay so far. Also the client exploded for me and refuses to boot up again so there's that.

Also: 2 minutes a day? Where do you find the time to eat?

Do we have a bs12 community settlement in Salem?

I've always found that anyone who complains about metagaming is someone that can't stop themselves getting caught with a bag full of traitor gear.

Or they're a cultist that draws bloody symbols all over the station in plain sight and leaves them there for all to see (top tip, using your tome on the rune will remove it), then goes running around gibbering about nar'si.

Or that the crew is suddenly staging a mutiny, half the heads are dead, after reports of people getting flashed (and come on, photopic hypnosis can't be a simple technology, it must have been tested at some point)

I've said it before and ill say it again, you guys ditch all logical forethought just to give the antags an easy ride (and why should they have one?), and finally you apply modern day principals on a huge stinking megacorp based several astronomic units away from the next governing body (corps today don't give a crap about the guys at the bottom, its doubtful nanotrasen would mind if a few broken eggs fell out an airlock if it improved the bottom line)

All this makes BS12 a hugbox that screams 'my first RP environment'

edit: forgot to actually put something here.

You are very welcome to go elsewhere for your 2dee spacemen experience.

Should invest in some kind of self-closing door, mate.

Aw but I liked the Luna... It wasn't such a enormous un-navigatable sprawl.

Last thread was locked because of image spam.

Multiples of the same image = spam.

(I couldn't decide between a bag of dorfbucks (which are never used) or a kitten (which would only hold value as a raw material for a dwarf, so socks it was... Feel free to use)

I'm quite content with Ragnar's stead. All types of crops, all types of domesticated animals and a small source of metal (low grade copper). Life is good. Also kinda chore-ish.

Seems to be a little complicated overall, while Two Sides in itself isn't illegal since it's a fanmade non-profit remake with multiplayer feature (like the Zod Engine). The fact that most of the developers working on it are also involved in other games which they hope to sell as their own thing may lead to some 'legal iffyness' because it would potentially mean Two Sides becomes free promotion.

As an example, how often have you seen the phrase, "From the makers of X" in a movie trailer? That's the hurdle here. So rather than facing a possible cease and desist order, they've pre-emptively pulled the plug on the project.

Alternatively they can just make it opensource, but they really don't want to. So that's the end of that.
