So does that mean you killed me with a brick?

Work is running apace.  I might not update tonight - I am a bit too engrossed in trying to solve a track problem.  I've never used tracks and minecarts before, so it's a learning process, along with lots of resets and bridge manipulation to avoid accidental dwarf homicide via minecart.

Good news, though:  the FPS is staying solid at 47-50 FPS.

Those designs look interesting.  I'm still reading up on minecart grinders, as I have never tried to build one before.  I should get an update out tomorrow, once I actually unpause and start playing, instead of reading about designs for things.  Things to do before unpausing:

Finish figuring out a minecart grinder.
Sort through this whole "Minister" system and figure out how to get dwarves doing what they need to do.
Set up clothing industry.

I might just leave the gates closed for my turn, as we are self-sufficient enough for now, and trying to kill invaders seems like a great way to cause more fun than needed at this point.

Fun note, only about 450 units are on the map at this point.  So I am not too concerned about the gaping hellmouth, at least not with the population cap issue we have.  I like the war animal idea, but I could also try to kickstart research again and get us turrets for perimeter defense.  It's not like we are going to do much in the way of swelling a militia population.

If I recall, there are plenty of ores on any masterwork map, due to world gen.  So I'll go hunting for more gold I suppose.  It's not like we have to worry about pop cap, or about wealth.  Our wealth is through the roof, and no amount of spamming population is going to happen fast enough to make a difference for this turn.

Well.  This fort has not gotten less interesting since my last try.  FPS is stable at about 45, so that is good.  Why is there a stockpile full of mechanisms in the adamantine spire?  I am kind of waiting for inspiration to hit me regarding what to do.  We have walls, food, and drink.  So I guess I'll try to figure out clothes, and then maybe try to just clean things up for a while.  And figure out the minecart grinder.  Possible I will also make some forge works or something.  We'll see.  I am just drawing blanks at the moment, oddly.

Well, looks like I will get cracking.  Expect an update in a few days.  Busy at work, so I have a bit less time at night.

Oh poor dorf me.  Undone by the vagaries of programming.

83
Hmm.  I can pick this up tomorrow.  I'll just assume no posts by then means go ahead :).

I have plans the next three days after work.  I can pick up on Sunday, unless you can finish the turn in that time frame.  If neither of us can, as much as I hate to say it, might have to pass... again...

This particular succession game is really trying hard to avoid and/or foil my attempts to volunteer in a timely fashion!

Nicely done.  I will try to get a journal entry up.  I am so happy to see my trap enacted :).

The cheese must flow.

I think I took Grim off broker, because he would never go to the depot.  Always training, and readjusting the schedule seemed a bit much.

The upper levers have been changed a lot.  Might be safest to test them, then add labels.

Multiple depots can cause issues.  Usually best to just have one.

The dinning room was me.  I try to build a new design in every fort.  Glad you like it :).

I tend to start each turn with a strong idea, and that gradually fades to blow by blow reporting.  No need to worry about it.  It's all just posting for entertaiment.  We are writing DF, not literature here.

Great job, jimboo!

For what it is worth, my burnout and frustration have largely subsided, and my schedule in the real world has calmed considerably.  I have almost no game turns pending, so if you want to add me back into the turn rotation at the end I think I will be much better able to handle this game whenever it comes around.
