Look on the bright side: You will not have to worry about running out of food, and your population just doubled. There is only one thing that could cause more fun then what you have right now. That's right, you better pray that a necromancer doesn't come for a visit, or else you would have a very, very fun time.

* If a necromancer does come, remember that I called it.

1. I personally don't use criminals for shock troops, rather, I use vamps/were-dwarves. They tend to be more expendable, because most criminals are just very unhappy dwarves.

2. If by campsite, you mean Trade Depot, then this is really easy. Just look for threads about Trade Depot Drowning/magma chambers.

3. Don't forget captured prisoners and trained animals. The clowns will path on the shortest route, so unless both are equal length, only one big tunnel will be necessary. Dodge traps also work well with prisoners (have them dodge into the air, and fall into a pit with the prisoners). Be wary though, clowns are magma-proof and can fly. They also scare little children.

To think that all of this started for want of some water. I try to avoid the caverns, because !!fun!! things always comes from them. After a fire breathing lizard forgotten beast wrecked my 2nd fort and killed the entire militia (three times in a row), I just keep the caverns sealed.

Looking forward to taking over yet?
Nah, I am just wondering why I never thought of dealing with prisoners in a such a utilitarian way. I always preferred a nice, bloody Temple to Armok (with *menacing spikes*) to deal with prisoners.

Please inform me if my understanding is incorrect:
You are going to seal the were-dwarves in with the gobo's, and are going to try and (turn as many of them into were-beasts)/(kill them all). Afterwards, you are going to send them to kill the snail via bridges in were form.

To sum it up, are you going to kill the snail and the gobo's with weaponized were-dwarves?

I personally use paint to do my screenshots. If not, you can just go full-screen (F11 I think) and take screenshots then. Still, this fort is better then my old one, which ended with a dwarven child sealed outside, mortally afraid, and eventually died from sleep deprivation. On the plus, he had novice discipline at the end.

Hello. Can I take a turn in the future (turn 11)? I am a firm believer in "Magma solves all problems", and have been looking for a !!fun!! game to join.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: [40.01] Creatures experiencing mortal fear

Playing 40.13 now. I have a dwarven child, a lone survivor (out of a fort of 200). He is stuck outside the fort. The goblins, trolls, demons, and forgotten beasts are inside (along with all the rotting corpses). He is very unhappy, and: "Reg Ginetonul, Dwarven Child cancels Sleep: Mortally Afraid". He must be having a blast.

They +- is still not working. I cannot really continue with something as important as that bugged. I think that this is the end.

In an old musty tomb, surrounded my skeletons, there is a masterfully crafted elf-skin book. It’s title is “Overlord Accounts”.

Ahhh, after such a long journey, it’s good to see more of my kind again. But I am getting ahead of myself. I am Max, A proud Dwarf, and the new overlord supervisor of Vabokotad. The quarters here are great, most forts that I have seen have dwarves in 1x4 tubes, and we even have cabinets and chests. I personally believe such luxuries are to be done after a proper industry and military is set up, in order to avoid unnecessary complications.

In the future, we may want to seal the merchants away from the rest of the fort, for their own safety, in case some hippies elves arrive. As such, I have put a bridge between the trade depot and the stairway.

I deciced to look at the stocks, to see how much food we had. I was not impressed. We had some meals, but very few meat/fish/plants.

We are almost out to food! I also decided that larger farms were needed, in order to produce excess amounts of said food. Plump Helms for Everyone!

The book trails off here. It looks like some kind of insect has eaten through the pages.

An: I stopped here because I realized that the +- controls were not working. 40.02 seems a bit buggy.
Also, what site do you use for your images?

296
Success! I am starting it now.

297
40.03. Should I go back to 40.02, or should we just make a new fort?

298
I will take up the challenge :). This will be my first succesion fort, and my 5th actual fort, so it should end terriblly Wonderfully.

Edit 1: I tried opening the save, but while I put the folder in my save file, it does not register when I open DF. Is this a problem with my computer, or with the save?
