I posted proposals about a civil law system, which had rules about property, how to get it, how to hold it and how to transfer it.

For exemple, we could attack an office and a room to a position, give a temple to a religious congregation or how to lease farmland and mine claims.

Could we reuse the divine metal framework as starters? We could define, in the raws, basic models for the game to use to generate specific metals or other elements and then associate some of them to spheres.

For exemple, we could have a crystal which could be linked to the Birth sphere and which could favorise pregnancies; when mixed with another metal then it could make multiple pregnancies even likely.

Excellent idea to simulate discontent among the population. The more critical a guild is, the more its strikes could harm the fortress and the more power they could have (in a farming community, a general strike during the harvest season could wreck havok - indeed, the ruler could even force workers back to job in such extreme cases).

And relationships between guilds could be even more critical: two guilds whose heads hate each other could not collaborate on a strike.

I think eschatology should depend of the universe: in some universes, maybe regular cycles of cataclysms and rebirth could happen, other universes could have a single apocalypse and still others might not have them.

Wealthier consumers might ask for goods of better quality. For exemple, poor haulers might wear trousers while wealthy nobles might only wear ☼trousers☼.

For the boats, I would put several modes of propulsion, such as sail and rows, while allowing modders to add others such as steam or nuclear.

As for the continents, we would first have to define continents and islands; as for their names, maybe places could have different names by culture.

Seems to me that historical information about an item should be transmitted as rumors ("The legendary sword Evilhammer struck down the ettin Wandersthroat in the year 602"), and one kind of rumor could be a "description of the item" that allows you to identify the item on sight, once you have the rumor.  (Logically you should be able to piece the information together once you have enough knowledge, but that sounds a lot harder to code.)

There's the Sourcing subdivision in topics about history; maybe historians might be able to discernate worthy and worthless rumors.

The ice caps expand over the course of a world's first decade. By Year 9 all life is mere fossils trapped within the maw of the frost that had enveloped the planet.

Worlds being cursed by deities to be turned into ice/lava/flood/whatever is a good suggestion; cataclysms being included in world gen is also a good one, such as worlds being hotter/colder/wetter than normal.

I would say that for BIRTH and PREGNANCY sphere related effects, there has to be more variation on the fertility of a creature for them to make sense.  Many people throughout history who had difficulty producing children would turn to drugs, prayer and rituals, but since in DF everyone can give birth instantly with no difficulty these spheres are kind of useless except for freakish effects like magically producing a child with no parent.

Maybe when fertility will be made more realistic to include stuff like sterility.

Excellent idea. This will surely add a lot of content.

And group-wide oaths is a good idea deserving expending, since several sworn convenants have influed history: for exemple the Covenanters played a huge role in Scottish and even British history and, in fiction, we have the Fellowship of the Ring. Hell, Judaism is based on someone pledging, him and his descendents, to follow a deity.
