Could you add some screenshot or something to showcase your mod?

ƧƔℳƂỠⱠ ƜȺℕ, did you manage to get it downloaded?

I did now. It was a problem with my internet connection.

Every time I try to download Masterwork DF (from here: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=5315) it stops at 2.66MB. Shouldn't it be 70.69MB?

This is all that is download each time: http://i.imgur.com/1blChU4.png

Had a "weremouse." Attacked a treecutter with a baby; baby torn apart, treecutter only stunned. Turned human and ran off.

DF General Discussion / Game Breakers?
« on: August 29, 2013, 04:09:47 pm »
Let's discuss game breakers.

From YMMV/Dwarf Fortress - tvtropes.org:

Are ballistas game breakers? One ballista itself seems to be able to hold off huge raids.

Dwarven lightsabers/hypersonic hammers?

Weapon Traps are considered to be game breakers by some due to the massive amount of damage they deal. Likewise for cage traps, which unfailingly captures anything that isn't immune to traps, even megabeasts (and if you put a Giant Cave Spider web on it, it catches anything)

Economically, stoneware pottery. Fire clay can be gathered indefinitely and stockpiled near a magma kiln, which perpetually churns out crafts and large pots. Considering that stoneware can hold liquid without being glazed, you will never have problems with booze again. The value of stoneware crafts is comparable to obsidian, but are much easier to mass-produce; a few years of constant production will give incredible purchasing power.

In Adventurer mode, sneaking and finding a tile where rocks can be picked up that close to the enemy's range of vision. Then you can throw the rocks until he dies (or passes out, at which point you can walk up and slit his throat), without ever being seen.

You can make a small room full of low-quality menacing spike traps. Fill those traps with practice spears. Attach them to a lever or repeater. Station a squad of dorfs in the room and watch their dodging, blocking, armor using, shield using, and weapon skills go up at a ridiculous rate. As a bonus, if any of them actually manage to get hurt, it gives your doctors practice, too!

Are there any more game breakers? Should these be removed or updated?
What are your thoughts?

DF General Discussion / Re: Morality?
« on: August 29, 2013, 02:56:56 pm »
Communism isn't actually a bad thing. The only thing wrong with communism is that it's corruptible... just like any other political system. Socialist governments have killed million of people, and so has capitalist ones.

Now if you’ll take a look at the texts of Communism, nowhere will you find anyone say “By the way, you should totally purge entire sections of your population”, yet nevertheless, it cannot be denied that millions are dead at the hands of “Communists”.

That’s “Communists” in quotation marks- you see, mass murder reflects on the ideals of Communism in about the same way that the Spanish Inquisition reflects the ideals of Christianity. Let’s face it, people will use any justification for their actions. The men who killed in the name of Communism only used Communism as a facade for their own agendas.

People kill people- that’s the sad truth. Communism has nothing to do with it.

DF General Discussion / Re: How did you find Dwarf Fortress?

I heard that Minecraft was inspired by Dwarf Fortress; so I decided to check it out. I'm glad I did.

I'm not talking about a guide book like Peter Tyson's. I mean using the lore and other things related to a game that you play to create and publish a book. This question is just purely out of curiosity.

DF General Discussion / Re: Merge DF with another game

If you say Dwarf Fortress only lacks graphically versus all other games, then I would have to go with one of the best games graphics-wise: Crysis 3. I'd be curious as to how Dwarf Fortress would be with the graphics matched to Crysis 3. One could only imagine.
