Play With Your Buddies / Re: Let's Play MAJESTY!

So I think I found out why we couldn't get dwarves or elves.  When I started with a dwarven stronghold a couple of days ago (freestyle maps are awesome) I found that I couldn't build gnome hovels.  I had always built gnome hovels beforehand, and found that I couldn't build a dwarven settlement earlier, nor an elven bungalow.  I think the game only allows for one set of non-human entities on the land, meaning that all those 'ikkle Bupo Dirtyhands are keeping us from getting dwarves or elves.

Oh well, at least the massive amount of gnomes mean we get tons of fast builders.

The more and more I play this, the more I feel like the Commando and the Bandit are the strongest classes out there.  I already have all the of the classes but the only one I play consistently is the Commando nowadays.  My friend still plays the bandit and swears by him, but I just keep defaulting to that one beginner class.  A vicious cycle, it is!  :P

But yeah, melee classes kinda get shafted by the Overcharged Magma Worm, easiest way I've dealt with it is to choose another class, or get the Heaven Cracker through sheer luck an sit away and shoot it.

Oh, later if anyone wants to do a couple of co-op runs, go ahead and PM me and I'd totally be up for it.  We might have to do some sort of voice chat but I don't think that'll be a problem (I'm currently writing a 1400-1700 word paper and I'm sitting at 1800 words; I need to make sure it's of good quality, so about another 30 minutes or so and I'll be heading home and we could game).

I've been meaning to ptw since I've been following along this whole time.  Keep it up!  One day Axespendable will live up to her name.  It's only a matter of time anyway.

Dear gods that naked Kerbal is terrifying.
I have seen the face of terror, and lo.  It was only a naked Kerbal.

Seriously though, that thing is terrif-
That's not the terrifying part. The habitation module only fits one Kerbalnaut. THAT NAKED KERBAL IS ALWAYS THERE IN EVERY HABITATION MODULE.
Okay.  Terrifying AND a space/time wizard.  I now fear for my sanity.

Getting to the third teleporter without getting hit is practically impossible solo.  Not totally impossible, but practically.  When they say "Legendary" Wisp, they mean the Ancient Wisp, which is in the second stage (which you can go back to and kill it instantly later and not care about that achievement too much).

The not getting hit more than once until you're level 10 as the Miner is tricky too, so I'd say get a good friend and try to go get those.  It's ridiculous to try it otherwise.

I finally unlocked that ridiculous "Drown 20 Whorls" achievement on Risk of Rain.  You would not believe how much of a pain that one stupid achievement is.

Risk of Rain kills you so often, but it's satisfying seeing the unlocks at the end of the run.

I've gotten to where I can kill most bosses without trying now, but the stupid flash mobs of elites that show up get me almost every time.

Against the Cremator, as the Acrid, you could always use your 2nd and 4th abilities against it when it charges you, that should always hit it.  I think your 4th ability might actually be able to do damage to it even if you hit it from behind, because of how it works.  Other than that, maybe put some poison in the way?  Get a few hits on it when it charges, drones are always helpful, and maybe a good active item or something.  Other than that, yeah you're gonna face the problem most melees do against that thing.

EDIT:  Also, I finally found the secret stage today, that's actually quite a hilarious little area.

The miner unlock, are there only two layouts to the magma caverns? In that game, my first pass through the caverns I had the layout with the pod in the lower right, past the lava. I could even reach it because I had the... jump jets, I forget what they're called (not the rusty jets that make you jump higher, but the ones that allow you limited flight with the gas meter). But I couldn't activate it like I expected. What did I miss about it?

Edit: Well, never mind. Despite this being the third or fourth time I've been to the pod, this was the first time I saw Direseeker.
Well, I guess you unlocked him, that's good.  He's a pretty strong guy who has a lot of mobility (the item you were talking about was the Photon Jetpack, which has the trolliest freaking unlock ever).

trying to co op online but i've got 0 experience in port forwarding with routers
You could use Hamachi instead.  Hamachi creates a VPN tunnel that you could use instead of port forwarding, much more user friendly.

What did you do to unlock the miner?
To unlock the Miner you have to be in the Magma Caverns, you go all the way to the right and there's a small passage that's in the lava, if you go through it there should be a mini-boss for you to kill.  Kill it and you get the Miner.

So just a heads up-- if you finish the fifth level (it looks like a temple), you have the option of replaying the previous levels for more gear, or advancing to the final stage.

One of my friends was NOT pleased to go back to the first stage when he didn't read the message. And died from being mobbed by a colossus, magma snake and a pile of green wisps, ending a pretty awesome 55-minute game.

Yeah, bosses seem to have quite a larger spawn rate on your second run-through.  Sucks that the run ended, it's pretty hard to stay alive at that part when you're solo.

Also, from earlier, I finally unlocked the miner.  Got lucky on that amazing run I had (that I left paused for 7 hours while I was at work/school/eating).  The last boss actually had... 240k health I think?  Regular bosses had 60k~ health at that point, along with most enemies being elites.  The game really gets hectic at that point though, still surprised I pulled that run off.

I'm so confused as to why people expect to have some climactic battle between our team and the bots on DotA.  Namely the two people on voice chat with me.  They absolutely insist that if you're playing a bot game, you have to play as though it's a regular game, and that you're not fighting the dumbest things in existence.  Or in some cases, the most cheating, but that's because they all coordinate like nobody's business.

So some guy will obviously exploit the bots, it's because he wants to stomp them and just have fun, not because he's being spiteful to you or something.  But they take it as a personal affront whenever someone takes advantage of the bots just not knowing what to do, and then they proceed to feed and just basically be dumb the entire rest of the game.  And then they complain about the community.

It baffles me, I just wanted a game where I could see what the character could do, instead I get stuck in a solo lane with the two most aggressive heroes the bots can throw at me while the guy they're trying to sabotage (following him around, feeding all of the bots) just takes off because they're inadvertently tanking for the guy.

Just, forget the asshole, report him for ability abuse if you're that salty about it, and play the game and help instead of being what you complain about.  Augh.

Well I haven't actually come to my own magma caverns quite yet, I keep getting the Underground Hive.  I know that the areas can be their alternates when you revisit them (return to previous levels from the divine teleporter).  Either way I'm getting a ton of items, I'm just curious what the last boss is gonna be like when I finally get to him; the amount of health everything had was starting to be 40k+.

Not having a sound error, having a weird error with the chargefield generator though (it's a mercenary unlock).  Every time I get two of them, it stops working.  Usually takes out my barbed wire with it.  Rather annoying little bug actually.

I left my current session on whilst I'm at work currently.  That run is practically god-tier though, so I'm just going to go through every stage until I get the right Magma Caverns so I can unlock the Miner.  When I left I remember I was battling three Overloading Magma Worms with around... 168k health?  I think?  Can't wait to get back to it.

Other than that, I'm loving the game. I'm not good at it quite yet, however. Still trying to get past the second level.

I'd suggest you get a friend to co-op online play with you.  It's a lot more fun with two people, and it's a lot easier as well.  The enemy spawn rate is upped, along with the amount of chests that spawn (or at least it seems like it, while I was getting 5 chests on my first level solo, we were getting like 10-20 together), and it's easy enough to drag all of the enemies to your friend for him to deal with.

Wait, you have to close the fridge's doors?  What kind of a sick sci-fi future is this?!  But that might be something you want to throw at the suggestion forums:
