Divination and world history. I feel like those will be more useful. We miiiight want to know if someone is planning to invade us. That and we don't want to look like an idiot like last time when what's his name asked for help to stop an invasion that we weren't even aware of.
Isn't that more of a Foreign Affairs/Intelligence thing?

I like tge idea of a grass tile for the creature tile.  I imagine it like a turtle-like creature with grass on its shell.  Big. And stealthy.  Like the elephants of old...

Holt, take the hammer. Hammers are the true dwarven weapon. Reg, take the helmet, check the weapons for rust. If they are rusted, don't take them. If any are of superior quality (and equal or greater material) or superior material, take them with you. Also, open the divine mystery bag, but look out for traps/scorpions/snakes/other stuff that's dangerous if it jumps at your face. In fact, use the tip of one of the old swords or the hilt of the weird copper spear thingy to open it.

If there's nothing dangerous or fragile in the bag, we can put the coins in it.

Okay, I've been following this for a while, and I've got to jump on the double decoration bandwagon. Minmaxing a bit is nice. Maybe there's a check for decoration involved in our diplomatic meeting. People respect you if your place looks nice, right?

As for how the troll got there without being noticed, did the troll have any levels in ambusher? Maybe it stealthed.

At this rate, I think your only chance of long-term survival is sacrificing all the workers you can to wall off the caverns with retracting bridges, followed shortly afterwards by the slaughter of all of your animals. Of course, there's no way you'll be able to pull off even the first step without getting slaughtered.

I'm pretty sure it's Phoebus. There's a shitton of lava in a number of channels. Somehow, trees have managed to grow over the lava. The moment something falls into the lava, the entire map is going to become one huge firey wasteland.

The dwarven childcare design works even better for adults, because you can give them proper armor. Look up the design made by Staalo. On top of training the normal danger room skills, it also trains swimming. If you force your dwarves to stay in such a room when they are off-duty, they'll get better skills without the stress associated with military duty.

They don't like getting rammed facially with it as it spouts up several z-levels into the air and also into a platinum wall* though, right?

*I want to make it out of platinum because of the way density is calculated. And anyway, I'll only need one block to be made of platinum. It's a spike-dodging and magma pressure mine combo design. My plan is to make a giant magmatic hand with extended middle finger. We're inevitably going to build another BATTERY, so we might as well use it.

Poor Armok. Sure, we may have almost four or five hundred dead dwarves in our catacombs, but can they take on both the Voidspawn and the demons?
...
Or at least, that's what I thought until I remembered that we probably have both of the prime incarnations of the Void God down there.
