Hm... So the next question is - can I tap into divine powers instead of a common knowledge when praying? It says it's completely possible to use Devotion instead of Common Prayer for that purpose...

EDIT: Cheers for me. Misread rules once again. So, for now I'm basically a priest without prayers - I can't reliably chant any Common Prayer, utterly lacking any skill with it.

"Probably", - she grimly nods. - "But not from darkness or behind, nor with poison, mind you. It would be too disgraceful. Only fair fight. Heh..."
She pounders on this thought a bit, then adds:
"We may never even have a chance to go against each other again. Only time will show."

Containers are safe to take, artifacts remain stored in them & connected to them at the same time, thus not dissipating into thin air first chance given. DF is so richly populated with various visible and invisible bugs that one can spend a life and still not find some of them.

It can be problematic if your map is an unholy clusterfuck of predator/night creature/megabeast/semimegabeast lairs piled one onto another... It never worked for me in such extreme cases. But you're right, at normal conditions careful questioning can eventually reveal teose hidden camps.

((Well, it's not really about historical accuracy. It's more about that he can try... And he tries. Which can lead to hilarious results if crossed with hard reality. I surely want to see it. From a safe distance, of course.))

Confusion somewhat cleared and peace threat established, Kel was not really satisfied with the outcome. While being grateful for healing, she still couldn't breathe properly without pain and it did not boost her foul mood in slightest. Being cold-blooded and detached had its good sides - she was in no worser mental shape than before. Loss in battle, serious injury and experienced humiliation... Nothing could really affect her. Not anymore. Not after all that she lived through. Beginning at endless carnage, continuing through dark rituals and going onto even worser things... All that said, foul mood was still foul mood.

"I don't think they'll return. But better be wary than a cold corpse at dawn."
She catch a sight of Jack going onto guard duty, coughed and nodded to him.

((How crippling my injury is as of now? Can I cautiously move around to find a better spot for rest or I'd better ask for help/walking cane? Also, please, inform me about my condition worsening/improving after the rest.))

Go to the southern room. Look into crates, make sure that the place is secure and stop to eat (possibly lighting a fire from wooden crates or some flammable materials in them - using our own firewood now would be unwise, better just energetically move around).

Use my medical knowledge [7-1] to help civilian; failing that, either use blessing if his wounds are not serious or Bhara's sleep otherwise [9+1-1].

About problem in general: That's not bug. It is feature!

You can have fun time exploring places that don't have exit but can be entered (misplaced stairs, cut galleries above pools) by DFHack adv-bodyswap. Recruit a few meatshields, bodyswap into one of them, go down for a hunt. Be a bit vary of going too far, though. It might be better to move your hero after the "explorer" on surface so that he won't get offloaded with all other meatshields. Bonus points that you don't die for real and can once again be in the skin of dumb weak peasant  :D

Sometimes you can't even enter without cheating, though. DFHack now has tools for that problem (already mentioned).

Actually, not only warlords/masters/other bandit leaders have masterwork weapons. Their high-level hinchmen (mace lords, swordmasters, etc) have good weaponry too. Strangely enough, nothing of exceptional quality. Either superior or masterwork.

They rarely happen to be living in severs. Most of the time such groups consist of 15+ people set a camp in wilderness. And, sadly, no lord will give you quest to kill them. I was reduced to searching through legends with Legends Viewer and paintakingly going through map squares to kill them.

It's unknown what triggers group growth, but its size corresponds to the number of weaponmasters (and good loot) in it. You can encounter them in camps/severs/dungeons in groups of 10+ people.

"Yes, that is everything. Thank you for the information and the conversation." Grab the ring and continue onward to Mountain 1.
This, and wish him well in his eternal rest.
+1. But I don't think that we would ever meet again. He already got what he wished for.

((Do I even have a choice here, after interesting yet counterproductive conversation with "bandit"?))

Kel signed heavily and, with a few coughs - thankfully, blood nearly stopped by now - nestled herself with minimal comfort on a stone floor. This time she lost. This time...

Relax and try to get my injured body somewhat operable.

Slowly go down the stairs in the following order: Uthen - Else - Olgar - Galgar. Be cautious, but not overly so. Observe walls on the way down.
