  Before I write something up, where was I during all this? I.e, was I fighting, outside, or inside?

  I look forward to thinking up how my dwarf reacts to this affront to his home, and how she (I'm a he, so I have to be extra careful) gets along with these new traders.

Personally, I'll be re-generating the Dwarfopoly map, but starting at year 2. 
Players who:
a) Have a definite goal in mind
b) Know that greifing the other players is not only permitted but congratulated and
c) Are able to affect the world in a significantly permanent manner

Those will all be features that will make the game very nice.

I'm guessing that a "museum" game will also be created, as well as possibly the Eight Squared variant.

Cue locking the money in with adamantine spire, then opening it. Cue self-propelling Minecart Traps kept going by Dwarven Computing.

So essentially leave it for some naive and hapless overseer later on, so they can unwittingly release the monsters from the deeps.We can then all panic and scream "WHY DID YOU DO THAT? YOUR ONLY HOPE NOW IS TO (put ineffective measures here)!"

I made the golemforge in order to upgrade some purchased golems.  Unfortunately they turned out to be made of brass and not all that useful against the undead.

So you intend on upgrading what material they are made of? Am I missing something?

This namby-pamby half-and-half embark was no match for our bridge mechanisms, trap hallways, and crazy cat ladies.
Clearly the next installment of the Battlefailed Saga should be set entirely in an area with reanimating terrain (slightly more feasible with pulping), and huskifiying mist for good measure.

With how fearsome the zombie titan from my turn was, I kinda have to wonder how hard it's going to be to kill one of those in the next version of DF (where they won't simply collapse after a certain number of hits.) That thing was nigh indestructible otherwise.

If we do that, what shall we call it and will we start a new thread for it?

And the Zombie Titan would have to be attacked with a pulping squad.

I figure that all units can climb/jump up, however, can they climb/jump back down?

 The way pathing works, what may actually end up happening is goblins climb up and get stuck up there for your dwarves (preferably behind fortifications) to pick off, or for weapon traps to trick them into dodging off wall and falling (into magma, if possible).

Will dwarves be able to jump out of minecarts or through fire?
