If you are sure about that, you could use TomiTapio's notes about converting.

Here's my notes for you. I am 90% done updating OLDGENESIS. Takes like... 18-28 hours to update a very extensive mod into 0.40.

Or are we gonna have skelebums throw bread at people in that room? Bread them.
We'll pour bread crumbs and oil all over the enemies, then cook them up in the giant oven room. We should build the giant oven room first though, it's can be put to better use on its own, while the breading room needs the giant oven room to work.

And then what? Do you just ask for a doctor then nothing happens? I don't think I'd want toady to spend time on this if nothing happens. If you mean that you then get taken to a doctor, then why? Adventurers can heal any healable wound by sleeping for an hour. The only things that won't heal are severed body parts and scars, which I don't think a doctor's going to be able to do anything about. If this is a suggestions for doctors, then I think a better title would be "Adventure Mode Doctors" rather than the current title, which only says that the suggestion is for adventure mode, which isn't very helpful to people looking through the suggestions. I expect somebody to come through pretty soon and say they found other suggestions for doctors, as that seems like something that's probably already been suggested, and of course you're not supposed to make new topics for a suggestion that already exists, but instead go back and post in the old threads. I apologize for probably sounding harsh, but it really seems like you just haven't thought through your suggestion at all.

Isn't this a bit unrealistic though? If the world in DF is anything like the real world, all land that can be occupied will be - given that they behave so much like medieval europeans. And isn't living by yourself all alone even more dangerous in DF than in real life? Think Into The Wild and Grizzly Man but with minotaurs and the undead.
All land that can be occupied is most definitely not occupied. With more civilizations than default and a thousand years not all land will be occupied. Even in the real world not all land that can be occupied is. Have you ever seen a forest? People could live there, but they aren't. There's plenty of space. It is more dangerous, but that doesn't mean people wouldn't do it. They'd be safer from invaders since they'd be attacking the main city, and not going anywhere near the person in the wilderness.

I'm not really sure that maiming someone and forcing them to live with a crippling disability for your amusement can really be considered "merciful." Just sayin'.

Apparently megabeasts are untameable (in practice) in 0.40, since they are 99% likely enemies of your civ.
That's pretty much always been a problem. The only way was to somehow get a breeding pair and mod them to be able to actually have children, though now the modding isn't necessary.

As much as I'd like to successfully finish this originally intended to be 20 part game in over 70 parts, I can completely understand just ending it. It seemed like it was pretty fun, even though I only showed up at the end. There was definitely a problem of trying to do too many things at once and starting out really weak and so avoiding anything that might have something stronger than a rat. I'm pretty interested in how this was going to be completed in 20 parts, especially how we were expected to talk to Vivec, but probably later on, even though there were only seven parts after Vivec until part 20. Did you mainly expect that each part would get a lot more accomplished? Anyway, I guess it would be time to ask why episode 68 took so long?
