Well you didn’t have to do that much work for me Starver, so I appreciate the efforts. Thanks.
I read a BBC Verify article about it last night which did outline there were three attacks on the three different vehicles that were destroyed, the second ~half a mile after the first, and the third about a mile beyond that, and various “experts” quoted as saying that from the pictures they were shown that it would be from drone-launched missiles. I would expect the operator of said drone would be able to see the insignia of the aid organization on the roof of at least some of the vehicles.
It does seem a little bit ridiculous to hit the convoy if the Haaretz report is accurate, in that the supposed terrorist wasn’t actually in it and the IDF knew that.

I don't know anything about this community save, but if no one's playing it, I'll take a turn. Until someone confirms an active run at it, I think it's safe to assume the play is up for grabs. Turns have been going on a "first drunk - first turn" basis |

I'm used to a one-day polling day (godforsaken hour in the morning to 10PM, traditionally on a Thursday...) with applications for proxy/postal voting (not yet online..? I don't think so) for those who are bothered enough to vote but cannot get themselves/their comitments suitable arranged.
Multi-day polling seems... well, useful in some circumstances that maybe just aren't so common over here. A "Wednesday Night Surprise" could perhaps cause a sudden change in fortunes (except amongst those who posted their choices beforehand), but surprises/counter-surprises every other day across two whole weeks of trying to undo/beat the prior gained advantage would probably put off many people from voting (or have everyone not totally welded to a cause to wait until the last day and then weigh up all the tos-and-fros that they cared about). Ideally, perhaps, everyone should be able to get on with their normal lives and then at a random time[1] get told that they have five minutes to register their current choice[2](s) and dial it in... Needing some sort of electronic-device enfranchisement, which of course needs a lot of 'something' not currently available. But, of course, it's.... Complicated. [1] The same instant for everyone? Or spread evenly throughout the day? [2] Including "Re-Open Nominations", rather than not participating/spoiling the ballot. And I would expect RON to win regularly, until the actual nominees work out how to no longer do so badly. |

~OW!~ After starting the fight, you proceed to retreat like a coward leaving your friends to deal with the mutants. Lanith attacks the kniferunner for real. You stab the kniferunner dueling the runefolk in the back, hitting a lung for critical damage. Kniferunner is at 3/20! For the first time Van shows another expression; a grimace of pain as a blade slides beneath his armour. It responds not with a pun but a low irritated hiss and another slash at the knife grass runner with a mana strike. Crit! Double Crit! Triple Crit! Quadruple Crit! Would have probably killed him even if he wasn't at 2 HP. Almost a waste. The grassruner is torn nearly in half by the force of the blade and the magic power granted to it, avenging your wound seven fold. I don't think I know how to heal anyone, so better attack the... scytherunner, I guess. Flails are hard to use on top of a moving animal, apparently, as you miss again. Moving animals are hard to use while someone is flailing above your head, apparently, as your mount also misses. "My aim is simply a little rusty. Just like your knife!" You finally hit! Your pun doesn't make much since given the kniferunner is dead, but now the flailrunner is also dead so you have that going for you. Attack twice, mana striking on my second attack. If the first attack kills it, move on to attacking the enemy of one of my suffering teammates. You miss the broken scythrunner twice, failing to finish off the last remaining melee enemy. ENEMY TURN! With most of the frontline in tatters, the remaining mutants grab their fallen comrades and begin retreating. Slingrunner, bowrunner, and scythe runner are attempting to escape with each carrying an allied corpse. |

You had me worried that I'd somehow missed Towel Day (25/May), most importantly that it would be when I would "Wear the lilac" (I have, on occasion, slung a lilac towel on, scarf-like, to do both in one.) But thanks for reminding me. I must check the garden/laundry-pile to see what might be feasible in a little over a month.

Would be useful to be able to aim an interaction the same way I can aim a melee attack.
And it'd be very useful to be able to modify syndromes such that a custom creature's venom could apply different possible effects, depending on which part of a creature's body is bitten. |

Do you have any links about reports of Hamas being present (or not)? I’d like to read about it. Apparently not enough to try looking for it myself, it still.I've gone back through my browsing history, and even scanned the relevent news-site's timelines. Inbetween all the mountains of related/unrelated information I can't find the text I remember, in that it was a report from a regional newspaper, and now I know I was reading this yesterday so it would have been a Tuesday-AM publication hot on the heels of Monday's incident. Might have been an early news report and not a web-page. Though I can't find that, I went looking elsewhere. If you'll accept wikipedia as a source... Quote from: Current extract... Haaretz quoted one Israeli defense source as saying that "the units in the field decide to launch attacks without any preparation, in cases that have nothing to do with protecting our forces."[3] Further citing Israeli defense sources, Haaretz reported that the destroyed cars "were clearly marked on the roof and sides" as belonging to the World Central Kitchen, and had "travelled along a route preapproved and coordinated with the IDF", but "the war room of the unit responsible for security of the route ordered the drone operators to attack", due to "suspicion that a terrorist was travelling with the convoy"; the supposed terrorist was "an armed man" in the aid truck being escorted by the cars to a food warehouse in Deir al-Balah; the cars had left the aid truck behind at the warehouse, and the "armed man did not leave the warehouse", but Israeli strikes from an Elbit Hermes 450 drone were still ordered on the cars.[3] ...which fits what I was repeating from memory, as far as it goes. Haaretz seems not to be deemed an unreliable source or badly biased (not pro-government, and making 'excuses'; not irredemably anti, and trying to just convey sheer incompetance through heresay...), though "a single unnamed source said" must of course be considered for what it might be worth. I've now read more about this than I normally would. Looks like it was a protracted attack, not a single (perhaps multi-part) targetting (so a different kind of "shell game" to the one I was speculating). Yesterday, when I first picked up the above, there were just the names of a local driver and two of the volunteers known. Now we know them all and cannot escape copious photos of the vehicles. (Not, in that link, any bodies; even pixelated. But I'm sure there's those also for anyone so inclined, or inclined to follow reports that cater for that level.) |

Thought I'd identified the only turret in the room so I ran into a safe spot, only to realise that safe spot carried a second turret. Tried backtracking, only to trigger the first turret and wound up in a crossfire.
