The only difference is that while magma filling the fortress causes Fun, Fun causes the fortress to fill with blood.

Therefore Magma = fun = blood, so magma = blood. :D

Probably some cobbled compounds.

Metal-crush's work - kelomducim - forge
Smallbreakjewel - estokabistrath - shard
Stoneman- lamudos for male, lamaral for female - mason (m/f)
Water - arel - booze
Waterkeg - arelemtan - cup
Stonebreaker - lamokab - miner
Earthblood - bernazush - magma.

The translations are more or less accurate.

That's actually some good stuff right there. I wonder how long it would take to compile a whole list of common dwarven-English words.

It would take a blasted long time, the Dwarf Fortress Dwarven language is lacking in a lot of words. There was no word for 'jug' or 'cup', but the suitably dwarven word 'keg' works, as an example.

Do you think they need a word for it? Then all the other races would find out what it is, and that isn't nearly as fun as it sounds.  Most of  Dwarven language consists of two Dwarves communicating via eyebrow in the dark.
I'm going with this.
Dwarves arn't known for their communication skills.
Besides, they only talk to each other to socialise, all actions are 'intinctive' to dwarves (the player bossing them around).
