Dorfs stuck?

So, I have a 2-z level fort starting in on the side of a mountain, and when I mined down, my miners got stuck, GIF related. Now they're dieing of thirst, and I don't know what to do.

The ramps you left there are not usable by your dwarves, or anything else. See the wiki page for a detailed explanation.

Uhhh... you might want to use stairs instead of ramps if the ramps are not connected to a wall.

Press b Then C ( C has to be in Caps locks ) then x to built stairs that goes Up & Down and replace those dug out ramps.

Make sure that you also build them in the first level to those dwarves down there and the second level.
