The question confuses me. Are we assuming there will ever be a "final" version of DF?

Wait, if dwarves can't see, then why don't eyeless siege operators run away from bad guys?

Covered in too much blood-can't smell anything :P

Also, goblins actually smell quite nicely of Hyacinth's and dead cats.

I have a feeling that when Dwarf Fortress is finally finished, it'll be an accurate simulation of dwarven life right down to the last atom and xxpig tail fiber sockxx.

you do know that when DF is DONE that we will not know it right?


because by that point it will be are new reality, and we will have forgotten that it was created and has not forever been.

Dedicate my life to making dwarves perpetual machines reality, driving my to become insane and start a tantrum spiral which would bring about Nuclear Destruction of the world...while my clone enjoys the game in a underground bunker fortress, mandating random stuff to keep my bunker staff of midgets busy,etc.
