Run and jump off into the water while yelling.

It seems to me that trying to slide down is a bit foolish, since you would tumble and probably hit your head on the way down, and if there are any rocks then they would be at the base of the cliff.

I mean, seriously, second turn, and you're jumping off cliffs, completly unarmed and without any food into what could be an instadeath... if I were you, I would be placing my name into the waiting list, you know, just in case of.

After seeing how shallow the water is, I turn around and go over to the trees, and try to break a branch off a tree for a walking stick/staff.

Seeing nobody diving off the cliff in a hurry Ashton sighs and heads back to the forest where he looks for a tree he can strip of it's branches, making a ladder might be the best way to get down.
