For some reason I don't get the option to make a campfire, I have 5 large rocks and 2 kindling but I don't get the option to craft it. Is there some trick I'm missing?

You miiiiight need logs or coal for a campfire, I may be incorrect though.

Kindling is not a fuel-like item, it is fuel, so it can extend the life of an existing fire but not build one up itself.

Jeez, deja-vu

Posting to follow.

Actually a rather interesting game, albeit simple, though hopefully it'll improve.

To get logs to start a fire, do you need to grind until your woodcutting reach a certain level?

Sometimes the world doesn't give you any resources. Like, no sharp objects (shale or sharp rock) at all to carve meat off corpses. I tried swimming out in the ocean looking for new islands. I was chased by two sharks while I was out of stamina (taking damage per action)... the sharks had silly AI (they stop chasing once in a while), so I managed to escape, only to find a 2-tile sand island.

Logs are just rare, there's no particular woodcutting level I don't think. In fact I think, at least as of now, all skills do is make you better at that task. By a pretty miniscule amount, but it does help.

Using an axe seems to increase the log drop rate quite a bit.

Hmmm, haven't read any spoilers yet, but I need some help when it gets dark.

Zombies and bears come for me when it's dark.

So far I'm trying to make walls - 8 rocks for a section, and I tried finding a place where I have access to trees and rocks, with fewest gaps to fill. Then I used the first day to make my little safe zone... but how do you make a door?! If I need logs then I I think I need some tips on how to make a stone axe (if it exist).

I don't think doors exist yet.

Found out you can pick the wall back up by hitting it a few times. Good enough!

Also, finally figured out why I wasn't getting anywhere - trying to preserve my tools, I was chopping trees with my hands. Using even a branch allows me to get some logs pretty fast. Doing so consumes the trees/rocks at a much higher rate tho.

Can't you use a hammer or grindstone to replace your tools? Even a weak axe with 17 durability translates into 17+16+15+14+13+12+11+10 uses.
