Duh, of course!

Simply terrifying.  I will not be able to sleep tonight, paralyzed by the howls of giant zombie sponges.
Howl!?

What is the difference between a living and an undead sponge? They have no vital organs, blood or any other clear indicator of being alive.

Mine it, package it into flimsy cages... and sell to elves as pets => both profit and fun!

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.

They don't need to breathe water to survive.

Don't tell anyone that you can see their shadows. If they hear you telling anyone, if you let them know that you know of them, they will get you.

Why not use them to farm FB/CS silk? They're viable targets, so the creatures would web all over the place. You'd end up with an eternal supply of silk without any micromanagement at all.

If the entire site is on fire, he will dig a hole in the ground; If there is a goblin fortress in the way, he will dig a hole in the ground; If the ground is under 10 layers of water, HE WILL DIG A HOLE IN THE GROUND.

i found some sponge-people in the river at my new embark and it would seem they do not have heads. although this topic has made me nervous to assign fisherdwarfs.

Well, that would air-drown them, and i think that that webs cant be spun into water.
Also, clown silk is far, far better then FB/CS silk, because it is fire and cold proof, and does not ignite.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.
