Has anyone seen a ☼ town in the new version?

As in, one that reached the symbol ☼ (preceded by #, *, and +).

I've seen one, but I don't think I ever went to it. The lag would probably be so extreme as to make it unplayable.

I didn't encountered any lag in the big cities in version 31.02. It may never be fast, but isn't slow either.

I saw a ☼ once while the world was generating. I looked later, but it had changed back to a #. I'm regretting not stopping the worldgen right when I saw it.

I have several (like 4 or 5) ☼ in my current world.

If you cut down the number of civs, you might see more.

I started lagging in a #-town, but not before I opened a door to the castle-thing.

Which was odd.

The castle keeps are known to cause lag.

My world has one. It's huge and a 10-tile wide river with a T intersection flows through it. It takes about seven seconds to process a step anywhere near the keep.

It's one of the world map symbols for towns.

I've been generating them regularly on worlds smaller and larger. Really it depends on how long history runs and how many sites are connected.

Essentially symbolizes a town with the largest population possible. Fairly common in the earlier versions, less so now

Nope, not once, and I've seen quite a few genned worlds. :\ Odd that there are fewer, but I suppose there's not really that much that could be done. =P It runs too slowly as it is - the max-sized city would kill it.

Vampires and werecritters cut down too much of the population, as far as I can tell.

When a city gets large enough to have a sewer, it tends to attract vampires that will never be driven out of a city (if they are in a sewer, I don't think they can be driven out), who will then kill off a dozen or so citizens per year for the whole rest of worldgen, and basically never get slain.  Most vampires have kill counts in the thousands, or even tens of thousands if they are 600+ years old.

The larger a city grows, the more werecritter problems they tend to have, as well.  Cities can have 50 or more werecritter lairs in or near a city, and be hit by hundreds of werecritter rampages per year, each one with a chance of killing a citizen, or converting them into another werecritter that will cause more rampages.
