IndieRoyale Alpha Bundle
« on: February 23, 2012, 10:18:51 am »

For the first time ever, www.indieroyale.com has put together an Alpha Bundle which includes Bay12 favorites Towns and 3079 plus the charming Wyv and Keep.

Head on over and drop a nickel for support or better yet, shame your friends into buying it!

* Shameless plug for 2 of my favorite Dev teams.

Yeah I was about to post this, a decent looking little bundle.
I like to think of this as the "Bay12 Bundle" since the 3079 and Towns devs are rather active here (I believe the basic concept of Towns was even born here?).

Anyway guys, get out there and support those indie devs!

Well I am planning on buying town (I have played some games with the idea of being on top of a dungeon, but add that to DF/DK style game play... Sounds fun to me.) at some point. Wyv and Keep looks okay. 3079 does not look like my cup of tea, but hey, why not.

+purchase (at some point. I need to go find my card and remember and blah blah blah.)

Very nice. Finally a bundle from the indie royal group that I'm actually interested in and don't already own half of it. I've been thinking of picking up towns for a little while now that my cashflow has improved, as I was fairly impressed with it when it first came up on these forums.

Just a question for the towns guys, does buying the bundle give access to future versions? and if so how do we get them, will the version up for download from the bundle page be updated?

More so, we have met here and i personally still consider this place a virtual home.

Awww... you beat me to it :p

Yea this looks awesome. The last dwarf fortress inspired game I played (apart from minecraft) was "Dwarves?!" on steam, which I did not find fun at all...

It looks like it's access only to the alpha's, not anything beyond that.

I think he may have simply not processed the whole description, as it was my impression that you get access to the full version too (it says, 'and updates', after all)

A silly question, but how in the world does one redeem a desura key? I legitimately have no idea, and cannot seem to figure it out.

Nevermind, figured it out.

Probably going to pick it up for Towns, though Wyv and Keep may be interesting.

3079 looks... bland. It may just be an unfairly generic description coupled with an astonishingly empty screenshot, but I see nothing on the Indie Royale preview page that would motivate a sale. Insofar as I can tell, it's like running Minecraft with a gun mod and no building. Phr00t may want to try to get that page revamped into something more interesting if he/she/it wants to bring in some sales.

EDIT: I AM A MORON WITH OVERZEALOUS SCRIPT-BLOCKERS. PLEASE IGNORE.

Nope, it means games that are currently doing 'alpha funding' - wherein they take preorders to fund the rest of development and let players have the alphas to play in the meanwhile.
